Summary: I'm rating this a bit late, but it still needs to be reviewed. I believe the game is great, but it faults in a few areas; such as main anvigation. It has a overly complex main menu to enter seasons and skrimiges. The practice mode( to improve your team) is a little weak as well. Probably unnecessary too. The gameplay is complex. If you love button masher games you'll love this. Combos and slap shots require a number of buttons to be hit in order to perform.
Summary: Truthfully, I bought the game because my 2 1/2 year old son wanted me to get a hockey game for the Xbox. He enjoys watching it on TV, so he wanted me to get a game too. It is fun to play. I'm not really that great with the controller, so it is difficult to maximize the game experience that the game offers. Overall, I think it is a great game. It looks very realistic.
Awesome. Never been a fan of sports game, but im sold

Summary: The "prostick" is ultra fun. Basically, the prostick system let's you control your hockey stick via the right analog stick, alowing you to jungle the puck around, poke check or even hook other players. The game itself is really deep and has (I believe ) all the options games from other franchise could have! Only downside is that 2k9 is coming out next month and that the rosters of 2k8 are outaded but hey what can you do!
Summary: I enjoy playing the game, but there are some unrealistic traits, but it is a video games so that makes sense. I am little upset on how easy it is to score. This doesn't represent true hockey, and alot of the hits are over the top, but it makes it fun.
Summary: Now, i'm not going to bash 2k8 and say it sucks or that EA's 08 is miles better because that isn't the case. It seems that people either hate one or the other game and love the other. Well guess what? I own both, for both ps3 AND xbox 360. If you have to make a decision and you can only play one game you have to ask yourself which is going to give you the most amount of enjoyment.
Summary: Let me start by saying that I don't watch hockey, in fact I don't really like hockey. I have always enjoyed hockey games! I have played them since the NES. I am halfway though a full season in franchise mode and find the game to be really fun. The action is fast, the animations are good, and the sound is top notch. I would recommend this game to others. I play games to be entertained, this game entertains me.
Summary: I just got this game last week and it has been hard to put it down. I will admit though that there are some things i dont really like about it. The controls are kinda messed up. I am not really fond with the set up that way but it is still fun to play. The graphics are great but they have video shots that they replay alot. Also the starting difficulty Rookie is very easy. I played my first two games on Rookie and won 8-0 and 11-1.
