  • Conclusion: If you just pick away at the achievements and save after game to your profile you will get everything you can very very quickly. There are a lot of great guides up for this game and this might be the easiest sports game i have ever played. 4/5 overall view: Terrific time waster with some easy gamerscore.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Ice hockey games don't seem to have changed over the last million years, and this is still the case with NHL 2K7 - the main change comes not in the integral play structure, but in the presentation mode. This tells you something. As a full price release this would be a waste of time, but as a budget game it's a solid, fun investment. EA take note for the next 48 footy games you put out in the next eight hours.

  • Summary: It’s hard to believe that a game with a generic sounding name such as NHL 07 could be so darn unique.

  • Excerpt: NHL 07, an introduction. When the Xbox 360 launched last December it was great to see such a wide selection of EA Sports titles. One series that was noticeable by its absence was the NHL series. This was rather unfortunate given that the NHL series is one of the better titles that EA Sports offer. This year though, the NHL series has come to the Xbox 360 and it’s quite an impressive next generation console debut.

NHL2K7

Xbox Evolved

  • Summary: NHL 2K7 is far from a perfect game. There are some flaws, particularly with the one timers, audio and the menus. But 2K7 still manages to hang onto the hockey game crown. With a great new mode in Cinemotion moving sports games forward, 2K Sports makes the first next generation hockey game that I can honestly recommend to hockey fans.
  • Pros: One word, Cinemotion.
  • Cons: Flaws with audio, one-timers, and the menus.

  • Summary: 2K's latest entry is nothing revolutionary, but adds enough to the mix to make it feel like something new.
  • Pros: Cinemotion is quite possibly the best camera angle ever produced; looks sharp; simply a lot of fun to play.
  • Cons: Some of the on-ice mechanics need work; convoluted menu system; interference penalties are pretty-much non-existant; a few quirky sound effects.

  • Excerpt: Though mildly flawed, 2K Games NHL 2K7 manages to emulate the science of the coolest game on ice to great effect while also delivering the most fun you'll find in a hockey-based video game this year - or any year previous.
