  • Pros: Playing goalie is a blast, Fixed wonky bits from last-gen versions, Fun, realistic hockey
  • Cons: $60 is way steep for this game, Doesn't look or feel next-gen, Announcers still sound atrocious

Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball MAX’D Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: Although stripped of its sleeper status, Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball MAX’D will still lull some of its competitors to beddy-bye with perfectly-functioning and well though out controls, strong online network code and functionality, and a new focus on team control. For $40, Greg Hastings’ Tournament Paintball MAX’D makes the perfect first step for gamers wanting to know what the tourney paintball game hooplah is all about.

NHL 2K6 Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: If you’re an Xbox 360 owner and a hockey fan, unfortunately your options are a bit limited with the launch line-up. While NHL 2K6 is a rock-solid game, it isn’t a next-gen showpiece that many gamers are looking for. The visuals have been upgraded, the gameplay has slightly been tweaked, and it is one of the best hockey videogames to date.

Xbox Evolved
14 November 2006
  • Summary: If you are a huge hockey fan, haven’t bought any hockey game for Xbox in the past year, and you want a hockey game for Xbox 360, this is your only option so I suggest you check it out. If you think you can wait to see truly next-gen hockey, then wait until end of 2006, when developers have had more time to work with the Xbox 360, to deliver a much richer experience. There are a few new additions, but the somewhat bad A.I.
  • Pros: Some new modes, better sound.
  • Cons: Bad A.I. nothing really.

  • Excerpt: I must admit that I’m not the biggest fan of sports simulator games, being a glutton for punishment, I’d much rather spend my time actually playing the sport for real. You know, running around a mud soaked pitch on a freezing cold winters day, getting soaked to the bone in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt instead of sitting in the comfort of my own home, in the dry, with the heating on, in a comfy chair, with a nice hot cup of tea… wait a minute, what am I talking about?

Video Game talk
6 February 2006
  • Excerpt: Building on the success of the NHL 2K series, Kush Games & Visual Concepts attempt a slap shot at scoring a hit on the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, marginal graphical upgrades, poor menu layout, and simplistic achievements hamper an otherwise feature packed title. The presentation is plain and almost stagnant. Besides loading up a sample game after an unresponsive period of time, the game does not hype or even introduce the game of hockey to the player.

NHL 2K6

Gaming Target
23 December 2005
  • Summary: Hockey comes to the Xbox 360 with NHL 2K6, another entry to the 2K Sports hockey franchise. You won't find anything too groundbreaking in this 360 version, but it still plays like an accurate simulation game of hockey.
