Summary: Pros: Nice music selection Fun A lot of different leagues included Some of the additions just make sense. If you're playing Be a Pro mode, you can have the option of having the announcers actually use your name (provided it's a name they have recorded, which is a decent list). Cons: I find in most of the games against the computer I can shoot 30 times, mostly quality one-timers, and maybe get 2 goals. Then the computer takes 1 shot from 100 feet away and suddenly scores.
Summary: I really love the revamped skating styles and graphics and the presentation makes it feel like a fresh game overall However, There are some of the templates that have been carried over for years that make it feel like it just a big update, and not a brand new game. The new camera angles and fades outs that make it feel like I'm watching a game on TV is great and I have enjoyed the game very much thus far.
Summary: I am an older gamer and like my games where you can take out of box and play. Sadly most games now are too complicated and I don't play as much as I used to. Lucky for me NHL 13 had a very short learning curve. After about 3 games I was able to figure out how to beat the computer on a regular basis (note i played casual level). At first I was playing the 1994 controlls which were the a and b buttons.
Summary: A lot of fun and fast paced action. My first NHL game and I'm really enjoying it. The AI the others have complained about does seem to be an issue at times, but not to the point of severely degrading the fun factor. I would highly recommend this for folks who like sports games, similar to me, who haven't given the NHL a shot. I think you'll enjoy it.
