Summary: I played this game for a bit, and found it to be a good game, but not as user-friendly or as easily picked up and played as some of the Madden games. I love hockey, and liked playing this game, but I put it down after a couple weeks and never picked it back up again. Probably best to just watch the games on TV (if they ever get back to playing).
Summary: I think EA Sports needs to consult some real NHL hockey players on how to program players on the AI and gameplay engine. Plus the only difference between this edition in the franchise from past ones is a little better graphics. If you like playing 1 guy on 5 guys this is your game. Your players controlled by the computer just flat out suck. Your controlled player is easy to get a shot off but you might make 1 out of 1000 shots if your playing above the Rookie level.
Summary: this game is terrible. you can never pass to the correct skater. hitting is insanely unrealistic online. your skaters very rarely get rebounds, instead they just look at the puck or skate away. the graphics are dated. nhl 10 was the best in my opinion. hopefully EA improves NHL 13, if not, i will not be buying any more of the NHL games.
Summary: NHL 12 NHL 2K12 for the XBox is a mixed blessing. It's been awhile since I've played an EA sports game. I found the graphics and the game play quite good on the XBOX. What I found frustrating was the lack of a game manual for a rather complex game. My son and I played it last night on XBox live. What we wanted to do was to create players for ourselves and play on the same team cooperatively for a season with the game tracking our individual stats.
Summary: Over the years, EA Sports provided the best Hockey game to play on your respected platform. With little competition from 2K Sports, as the NHL 2k series is taking a break to reinvigorate the franchise. So once again EA Sports has returned to hit the ice once again in NHL 12. Coming off critically acclaimed NHL 11. Coming off the critically acclaimed NHL 11, the bar was already set high for this year's version. So does it live up to expectations?
Summary: The game is good but boring. If you have played the previous NHLs you will like this one or hate this one. This game is more frustrating than the past ones however. The goalie system in the game needs a lot of tuning. They come out too far for the puck and there are a lot of goalie interference calls. The visuals are good and the commentary, now after a playing a few NHL games, is getting a wee bit boring.
Summary: This game has the worst freezing issues I have ever seen! Everyone seems to have an issue with freezing, for me it's in season mode, I can't lose a game or the game will freeze. This is absolutely frustrating, and it doesn't save, so I'll go 4 games into it and lose and it freezes and Iose EVERYTHING! Until EA fixes this I will NEVER recommend this game to a friend or anyone.
Summary: This is the first new NHL game I have bought since '09. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I'm disappointed with this game. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun and it's far from a bad game, it's just not where I wanted it to be. The biggest problem for me is that I can't find a happy medium between impossibly challenging and incredibly easy.
Summary: the game was good but there needs to be more reffs. and when they fight there need to be more injuries and blood and i like in nhl 9 when u could see your self fight i dont like how u can only see ur arm. When the goalie comes out of the net u should be able to crush him it should be just like the real hockey.
Summary: I have loved the NHL series since NHL 93 for Sega. I really like this title but it seems like for every step forward they took, they took a step backward in some way. For instance breaking the glass, knocking off helmets and knocking the net off the moorings are cool additions to the game. However, the goalie fights are ridiculous because basically if you touch the goalie at all he can try and fight you. Another ridiculous thing is the hitting.
