Summary: This game is unacceptably bad. I'm a very big fan of EA's NHL series. I have religious played each game released in the series since NHL 08, and I've seen the series come a long way in that time. The forward progress of the series, and, indeed, the quality of the experience as a whole, has come to a crashing halt with this year's rendition. This game has barely more content than its predecessor, and, worse, it plays in highly unrealistic fashion and is riddled with bugs.
Summary: Been playing the EA NHL series *religiously* for years now, and this one is heartbreaking. Broken mechanics include player AI defense, glass breaking as many as twice a period on the *default* settings (seriously? I've had Pens season tickets since the Pre-Sid era and have seen maybe two pieces of broken glass, only one shattering), computer defensive skills AGAIN having the all knowing god mode of user attacking, broken/plain crappy AI opponent attack algorithms, the...
Summary: I have played the NHL series since 09. I used to play avidly with a club in EASHL, which I still do from time to time, but this game fails to improve from year to year. I am not spending anymore money on this franchise, as the developers/publisher fail to keep the game up-to-date with glitch fixes and proper gameplay. I don't care about roster updates, I only play multiplayer EASHL.
Summary: THIS is what happens when there's no competition. Let's see, what's broken about NHL 12? 1. Your AI D will still go behind the net, hug the boards, and wait to turn the puck over. 2. Goalie fights in EASHL are a complete waste. I play RW and really REALLY enjoy sitting around doing nothing for 5 minutes because of a goalie fight (it's the RW who goes into the penalty box). 3. I love how if I'm standing near the goalie, I seemingly HAVE to fight him if he so chooses. 4.
Summary: Ok. Just like most EA NHL fans, I buy what is essentially a $60 roster update. I'm getting old. I don't play online. I tweek my sliders so that I can win most of the time, but lose enough to keep it interesting. I can accept a game occasionally locking up in play, but I've gotten to a point, in season play, where it won't let me advance any further into the season. If I try to play my next game, or simulate past it, the menu/game locks up.
