Need for Speed™ SHIFT is an award-winning authentic racing game that combines the true driver’s experience with real-world physics, pixel-perfect car models, and a wide range of authentic race tracks. Need for Speed SHIFT takes players in a different direction to create a simulation experience that replicates the true feeling of driving high-end performance cars.Players are thrust into the loud, visceral, intense, athletic experience of racing a car on the edge of con…
Overall, NFS Shift provides an entertaining experience with a decent variety of tracks, locations, and vehicles. NFS Shift doesn't do anything wrong, but it also doesn't do anything new. It takes previous ideas from other racing games and melds them into its own well presented package. If racing around famous tracks in high priced cars going at ridiculously fast speeds, all in the comfort of your own home sounds like fun, this game's for you. If you're a hardcore fan of... When you consider all the ups and downs of this one, I must admit it just doesn't retain thrill we've got from titles like Most Wanted and the Underground series. Granted, it's a different type of game now, so it may be a bit unfair to assume this would bring the same amount of excitement you get from cop-chases or story-based races and challenges. Yes, it's a different game. But it's simply not fun anymore. Not to mention, it lacks a unique touch - something that would... Read more
It’s not a perfect debut for this new "Need For Speed: SHIFT" in direction, but it is without doubt the finest since Most Wanted. It looks gorgeous, and the racing action is brilliant- fast, furious, and incident packed. Occasionally there’s some dodgy physics, and the damage model isn’t up there with DiRT quite yet, and the career can be a little unfocused and poorly presented at times. Read more
All in all, Need for Speed: Shift is proof that you can't please the masses by compromising between different sub-genres of games. The game gets close(r) to a balance of simulation and arcade at times, but mashes the edges together far too much. Honestly, the game is more likely to appeal to racing purists that want to drive F1 and DTM circuits for fun than it will the average person who wants to hurl a fast car around the pavement. Such a focus won't revitalize the... Read more
has in the end become a success. It breathes new life into the series, and actually only by trying to bring the excitement of real racing over to the game. There the makers succeed very well, and that's why we forgive the somewhat lacking driving model that comes nowhere near the real sims. I for one am already hoping that a successor will take over the strenghts of this game and moves the setting to a more open world experience like in NFS: Most Wanted. For now we have... Read more

This game is truly amazing this is the best game NFS has come out with yet. I love how they focused on the cars, tracks, handling, and the life like aspect instead of the pink slips. Read more
I bought this game for my 12 year old son for Christmas. Although I know nothing about video games he seems to enjoy it. he races his cousins via live. Read more or see product
Need for Speed : Shift is a very different entry in the NFS series, certainly when compared to the street-racer based iterations of the last collection of games from PS2 onwards... However, it is a much better game for it, as the previous two NFS games were just dire. This new direction helps breathe life back into the series, as it's certainly far more Forza/Gran Turismo-ish than it is an open world street cruising racer now. Now having a large selection of real world... Read more
this is a big improvement from NFS Underground and Carbon but I am so confused as to how EA let this ship with sooo many obvious errors. The car bounce is ridiculous and i have lost countless races thanks to it. how could EA miss something THAT big????? I think they should do a remake of this game but with all the cons i listed above evaporated * EA that means CHECK the game before you ship it. were you half asleep at the time? I love the style of the game (organized... Read more
