Need for Speed Most Wanted
The Gamers Temple
4 October 2014
Excerpt: Need for Speed: Most Wanted (NFS:MW) is a familiar sounding game for the Xbox 360 because a game with the same title was released around 2005. However this 2012 version is not a sequel nor reinterpretation, but rather a new racing game from Criterion Games. Criterion Games had created several Burnout games and even a previous Need for Speed game called Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in 2010. So what is Criterion Games bringing to the table with their newest release?

Excerpt: Wake up to the smell of burnt asphalt as the thrill of illicit street racing permeates the air. From the makers of the hit Need for Speed Underground series, Need for Speed Most Wanted challenges players to become the most notorious and elusive street racer.
Excerpt: You might be wondering if Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the brand-spanking-new-generation Xbox 360 is worth the extra $10 over its current-generation counterparts. Truth be known: it all depends on your setup.
Excerpt: EA is finally moving away from the import-street-racing genre with Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and I'm very glad to hear it. Both of the NFS: Underground games were fun for a short while, but the huge amount of wacky product placement, overall tuner culture, and ugly cars with neon lights on them really turned me off.
Excerpt: There are a few major racing games out for the Xbox 360, but Matt James is stoked to be playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It's not the simulation experience that Project Gotham offers, which, for some gamers, is a very good thing. Take your driving skillz to the pavement against outlaw racers, avoiding cops and whipping through dynamic environments that include weather and time effects. It's a lot of fun, and we've got the write-up right here.
Excerpt: If you look at my Gamerscore on Xbox 360 you’ll see something interesting – several years of games, but only one with a full 1000/1000 points earned. That title standing singular above the others is the original Need for Speed Most Wanted. Nitrous-fueled break-neck racing was delivered courtesy of EA Black Box, wrapped neatly around a storyline casting you as undercover cop sent to bust 16 street racers. The game released in 2005 and was universally well received.
Conclusion: Fast, furious and probably the most fun you will have behind the wheel of a digital car this side of the next generation of consoles. Most Wanted proves yet again that Criterion Games really is the best in the business when it comes to crafting a rollicking racing game. Sure, it takes a little getting used to at the outset, and the cops can get a little bit irksome from time to time, but all these minute niggles are far outweighed by the game's eye-watering pace and its...
