Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (PS3, 360) – Reviewed

mature-gaming.com
7 September 2013
  • Excerpt: I think it is fair to say that the Need For Speed franchise has been through a tough time trying to re-identify itself after losing the ideals of what the original titles brought to the table. I still remember the heady years of the early 90′s, sitting down and popping the original Need For Speed title into my 3DO for a monster session of racing and police evasion over 3 courses.

  • Pros: Engaging gameplay, pretty cool soundtrack, very easy to learn controls.
  • Cons: Noticeably sharp difficulty spike, main game on the short side.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth

impulsegamer

  • Excerpt: 11 Bit Studios sent us over the code to check out the Xbox Live Arcade version of this interesting game. Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a bit of a twist on tower defense gaming. Rather than being the one defending against incoming forces, the player is the one defending their column of military vehicles going in to take down the defenses.

(Xbox 360 Review) Anomaly: Warzone Earth

The Entertainment Depot
15 May 2012
  • Summary: Anomaly: Warzone Earth offers an interesting twist on the tower offense genre by giving players an on-the-ground presence. As the commander, players will be able to walk alongside their convoy as it makes its way through a gauntlet of alien towers, calling down smoke, decoys, repair fields, and air strikes to ensure their safety. It’s this extra hands-on touch that really sets Anomaly apart as it adds a dimension of action that other tower offense titles lack.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth Review

PlayDevil
10 May 2012
  • Summary: If you’ve played " Anomaly: Warzone Earth " before, then this is not the game for you. It looks and sounds a bit nicer, but you’re paying a lot more money for that, whilst the new content is not brilliantly compelling, nor does it last forever. If you’ve not played before, then Warzone is an interesting take on the genre that’s well worth picking up.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth

Game Boyz
21 April 2012
  • Excerpt: Anomaly: Warzone Earth is the unique PC hit that brought its own set of rules to the tower defence genre with some additional twists that you wouldn’t expect in this game. Now it's being released on Xbox Live Arcade but will a controller be able to give you the same experience as the PC version? Or will it be StarCraft 64 all over again?

Anomaly: Warzone Earth

BluRay Authority
11 April 2012
  • Excerpt: The Live Arcade has a good amount of tower defense games, but Anomaly: Warzone Earth more than earns a place at the top of the genre. An alien menace has been unleashed on our blue planet, but the armed forces plan to turn back the invaders and restore peace. The plan is to assault the aliens, but since the invaders have dug in and set up entrenched defenses, the march to victory will not be a simple one.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Strategy Informer
6 October 2011
  • Conclusion: The decision to let Criterion tackle the Need for Speed franchise has paid off massively. They've produced one of the simplest, yet endlessly engrossing racers of the generation, which is all down to their superb ability to balance how each race plays out. The sense of speed will have fans harking back to Burnout, and the cop chases steal the show by some way.
