Summary: First off, I can't tell the difference between any NCAA Football 08-12. It seems like the graphics and gameplay are all the same. Add to that the fact that there are no player names and it seems pointless to buy any of the NCAA football games by EA. Now for the problems: -Every now and then your receivers will do random things like run away from a pass. -If you play with a low level team your receivers will fumble EVERY time they get tackled.
Summary: If you like college football, or any aspect of college football avoid this game. Watch a tape of a game from last century with your favorite team. It will be time better spent. The game fails on simple logic of the speed to two players, with often the significantly slower player winning a footrace. With proper movement, you can return about 50% of the kickoffs for TDs. If you play, stick to the run, or sim the games and enjoy the recruiting function.
Summary: The only reason this obviously flawed game gets ONE star is it still has a deep, versatile, and challenging dynasty mode. Mind you there are glitches there but they are minimal and microscopic in relation to the gameplay. The graphics while sleek, don't make up for the players running straight up and down like marionettes even while changing direction. To add to this there are no individual running styles.
Summary: I am a longtime fan of the EA college football series. I played since the first one back on PS2. It was one of my favorite games and I've probably been through 30 years of dynasties. I was even painted up for a cameo in NCAA 07. That said, the current incarnation makes me sick to my stomach. The pass defense is beyond terrible. The defense never really does anything. They just stand there.
Summary: This is what happens when lack of competition meets overextension: EA Sports has so many games it no longer cares about their quality, and it has competition in so few areas that it doesn't need to. While NCAA 09 can be fun at times, it is so full of obvious bugs and strategy flaws that I would be surprised if it actually went through a QA process and was changed at all. If you look on pretty much any 360-related forum, you'll find a huge list.
Numerous bugs and rubberband AI lead to frustration
20 July 2008
Summary: This game is just too buggy to recommend. It has egregious functional and balance issues that make this game too frustrating to play. * Custom AI Sliders do not function correctly. The CPU sliders do nothing. Human sliders affect both CPU and human. * Online dynasty mode sometimes simulates games that have been played by humans. A number of people have reported trouble connecting to EA's servers.
