Naruto: The Broken Bond

GameTrailers
9 January 2009
  • Excerpt: With three publishers releasing games on five different platforms, the Naruto market is more than a little crowded. Ubisoft took its first shot at the franchise last year with the Xbox 360 exclusive, Rise of a Ninja.

  • Conclusion: If you're a Naruto fan then Broken Bond should definitely be on your play list. Ubisoft's take on the Naruto franchise is every bit as good as its eastern counterparts, and in many ways I'd venture to say that it's even more so.

GameSpot

  • Summary: Last year's Naruto: Rise of a Ninja was a promising start to Ubisoft's planned series of games telling the story of Naruto, the brash young ninja whose anime series has millions of devoted followers all over the globe.
  • Pros: Gorgeous graphics, Fight modes offer lots of characters, English and Japanese voice tracks available, Compelling online ranking system
  • Cons: Story lacks momentum, An endless series of dull quests, Same simple environmental obstacles repeat constantly

  • Summary: I have never seen Naruto, the Japanese anime with over a million fans worldwide, nor did I play the predecessor to Broken Bond, Rise of a Ninja. Obviously, with this lack of experience to the franchise, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect.
  • Pros: Looks just like an anime series, Fighting is extremely fun, Great story...
  • Cons: ...that is hard to get into for a Naruto newbie, Missions do become a chore after a while, The American voices are terrible

Naruto: The Broken Bond

GameStorm
23 September 2009
