Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a throwback to earlier versions of the Mortal Kombatt series and that is meant as a complement. To cut a long story short, this certainly won't be the game to help Midway get through its financial crisis. However, it's comforting to know that the developers behind MK won't be affected by the company's difficulties. So, here's looking at a better sequel, perhaps. Read more

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a quality fighting game which fans are surly going to enjoy. Playing as characters such as Superman, The Joker, and Batman definitely add to the whole Mortal Kombat experience as they are tied in nicely with the MK fighting style. This is a quality fighting game which fans of the franchise and the genre in general will enjoy. Read more

Overall this title was a pleasant surprise to review. I went into it expecting one thing, but came out of it being very satisfied. While the game does have it’s problems, like the overall difficulty and the controls being difficult to master, it still manages to impress. The new fighting mechanics, and of course, the new addition of the DC Universe adds a much needed breath of fresh air to this franchise. Read more

Speaking as a fan of the Mortal Kombat series, allow me to say this—we don't come for the fighting. The fighting is secondary. If we wanted good fighting, we would play Street Fighter , or Tekken , or Virtua Fighter . We accept the fighting only insofar as it adds weight and consequence to the kills. That's right, this is the one place where alarmists and congresspeople are 100 percent correct. We're only coming to Mortal Kombat games for the violence. Read more

Midway's new fighting sequel looks good, but doesn't play much differently than its predecessors. Read more
- Great-looking update to the franchise; characters like The Joker are fun to play; story is engaging in spite of cheesiness.
- Core gameplay feels like old MK games with a few mini-games thrown in; not much longevity to the experience.
