Meteos Wars Review

  • Excerpt: Meteos Wars is the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Meteos, the stupendous 2005 DS puzzle game so good that it warranted a 9/10 in our review . We loved it primarily because the controls were perfectly optimised for play with the touch screen. As blocks fell from the top of the screen you were able to use the stylus to create rows of three or more of the same colour, which then turned into thrusters propelling the blocks above them up the screen.

Meteos Wars (XBLA)

Video Game Generation
7 May 2009
  • Summary: Though it isn’t without its issues, Meteos Wars is a respectable title that’s well worth the purchase price, especially for fans of the original game. However, if you’re wanting to play online for some good old random matches, that is almost out of the question unless you have some friends who are planning on purchasing the game too. Hardly anyone is online to play with. It figures that there are achievements for ranked matches, too. Isn’t that always how it goes?
  • Pros: Head-bobbing music sets the mood., Aesthetically-pleasing graphics with fun colors and settings., Addicting puzzle gameplay.
  • Cons: Can get really difficult, really fast., Hardly anyone online to play with., Difficulty may drive some away.

Meteos Wars Review (Xbox 360)

UGO
8 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Review by Adam Rosenberg Q Entertainment's (formerly) Nintendo DS-exclusive Meteos re-wrote the script for block-dropping puzzle games. It's a sort of anti-Connect Four, tasking players with matching blocks only after they've hit the dirt. Now we have Meteos Wars for Xbox Live Arcade. While it's fundamentally the same game, the absence of the DS's touch control proves to be a near-insurmountable burden.
