Enormous potential is sadly left unrealized in many ways, and niggling issues muddy the waters

Summary: Positives: - Money is far more abundant, the player no longer needs to be frugal - Support Items can now be added to the support 'wheel' from a large stockpile of items, allowing the player to build up a surplus without overflowing their interface - The handling of wheeled vehicles is far more responsive and satisfying, and each vehicle actually seems to have a suitably weighty feel - Weapons in general are more satisfying.
Summary: The first Mercenaries was the game that finally quenched my thirst for destruction. I loved the game, with destructible environments, an open-world, and money to spend on any vehicle, weapon, or air strike that you wanted. Mercenaries 2 comes, and I expect the same adrenaline-pumping thrill ride that Mercenaries was. I didn't get it.
Summary: First off, let me say I absolutely loved the first game. It was excellent. That said, the second is brilliant, though not quite as excellent. Here's a rating chart: 1-10 (10=best possible) Subject - Mercs 1 - Mercs 2 Graphics - 4 - 9 Gameplay - 7 - 8 Explosions (yes, it's a real concern) - 2 - 10 Storyline - 4 - 5 Weapon selection/performance - 7 - 4 Smoothness (lack of glitches) - 9 - 0.1 (Yes, i meant that) Funness (it is now a word) - 6 - 7 Free-roam enjoyability - 7...
Summary: So I was a late buyer of this game. I had time to see the bad reviews mentioning the bugs, and I assumed the people were a little too nit picky, that was not a correct assumption. I fell in love with the original Mercs. It was open, you could still stuff, you had AI buddies that would help somewhat. It was easy to find tanks of choppers that you wanted, I rarely paid for anything. So this was a no brainer for me.
Summary: Its not gonna win any awards anytime soon but its OK for a GTA clone... definitely worth the $5 i spent for it (including shipping) but does not have too much replay value and it can be feel kind of bland at times and not very challenging. Also it can be really glitchy at times, ie: having to replay missions multiple times for it to register and save to the game.
Summary: ...try and charge me $60 for this game. Thank goodness for rentals, otherwise I would have been upset for buying this. To be fair, I didn't think this game would be that good ever since the first time I heard the commercial with that stupid song. But this isn't about a commercial, this is about the game. Good: -Co-op: It's pretty easy to drop in/out of a friends/enemies/complete strangers game.
