Summary: I couldn't find much enjoyment in this game. It was promising with all the upgrades and weapons you could use, and the graphics were great for its time... but I just couldn't get a handle on the gameplay. Most of the time I had no idea where I was supposed to be going, the gunplay felt a bit weak and totally unfair at parts, and the story was just too much fiction at once for me. It could be a good choice for you, but for me it wasn't. Maybe I just suck at it.
Summary: It is odd because I am playing ME and ME 2 back to back before the release of ME 3, but I find this game to be a horrible version of Knights of the Old Republic for XBOX(original).... That being said, those were 2 of my favorite games all time. This game is like those without a smooth battle system or or an environment I already understand and love. If you want to play a shooter, then play one.....
Summary: Im going to keep this short I bought this game yesterday and am returning it today!! I played it last night and at first i liked it with the cut scenes but when i actually got to play, the controls suck, the movement sucks, the weapons suck, and 15 minutes into gameplay i got stuck in a glitch and couldnt move and when i restarted the game i was still stuck in it!!! It was a good idea but it was put together poorly!!! I wouldnt recomend this game to anyone!!!
Summary: Honestly I did not like this game. It felt too confusing and I felt like I was going in circles with talking with everyone. And the gameplay it self was choppy, messy, that I didn't even know what my objective was anymore.
Summary: Mass Effect is pretty much a sub-par RPG. I'll put it for you this way: If you enjoy talking to NPC's for about 16-18 hours worth of gameplay, then Mass Effect is for you. The conversation system in those regards is pretty good (although the dialog can get pretty corny). The overall controls of the game are pretty smooth however it is aggravating that are limited enemies. In other words, there is no grinding XP what-so-ever.
Summary: Bought because it was one of the few games on my son's wishlist with an age-rating that was roughly appropriate. But it arrived with an (overseas?) rating of 15+ "strong themes, sex scenes and drug reference" and "not suitable for people under 15. Under 15s must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian". So, it hasn't been given or opened. No idea what the game is like, just wary of whether it's what I thought it was.
Mass Effect: Bring Down The Sky (Xbox 360): Mass Effect? No no... Little Effect!
13 October 2009
Summary: This rating covers this expansion only, that is 'Bring Down The Sky.' However a little look at Mass Effect initially. Mass Effect is a brilliant in depth but easy to pick up play RPG. It isn't too colossal a world but enough that you can lose yourself in your character, the decisions you make to effect your story, skill and stat upgrades, weapon and armour upgrades etc etc. Plenty to do. Where this game suffered was the limited environment models and textures.
Pros: Tiny bit of extra story
Cons: Costs real money! Adds little. Not difficult.
Summary: From the creators of Knights of the Old Republic comes something I wasn't expecting. Believing that this game would be a sci-fi version of Fable I was sadly mistaken. I found the fight system, the characters and the storyline poor. To complete the game the storyline needs to be completed multiple times but I was bored with the one play through.
Conclusion: Never played any Mass Effect game myself, so bought this pre-owned with the intention of going through this and ME2 in anticipation of ME3 next year. I read (and trusted) the reviews of the majority.
