Summary: Bought this for my 9 yr old. They love it. I'd give it a 2 for myself. My kid would give it a 5. Even so, for a 9 yr old it's still too easy to beat. They love the story line, the characters, etc. And that gets them involved with great comic book characters. So, what could be wrong with that? For a family game, it's average. But their smiles are def worth it.
Summary: I, like I assume many others, bought this as my son's request for us to play together. He's still young (preschool) but hasn't had any issues with the LEGO games or Disney Infinity. The main portions of this game weren't much of an issue either, but the boss battle difficulties seemed out of whack with the other parts of the game. Certainly hard enough that I couldn't just finish the boss off by myself (in 2 player; maybe this is ratcheted back in single player).
