Summary: As someone who enjoys playing sports games, but hasn't played a baseball game since N64. This game I picked up for a dollar and the controls are terrible for fielding the ball as well as hitting and pitching they just don't work well at least for me.They are too complex whatever happend to hitting a to bat b to pitch and to field the ball hit x to throw to whatever base you need to.If this is the way baseball games are made now I'll never buy another and will just go back...
Summary: I've been playing these games for a few years now. I have to say that I have yet to find one that impresses me... They are very glitchy and I just don't think the company is dedicated to this franchise.
Summary: The graphics in this game is awful and so is the gameplay. It freezes and it is just a boring game. Mvp baseball 2005 for gamecube has better graphics and better gameplay. I strongly recommend not buying this game.
Conclusion: MLB 2K8 The commercials got me excited and I gave 2K Sports every chance I possibly could with this game. Visually it is stunning in between play but unfortunately it doesn't even come close to holding up during game play. I dont know if this game was an error due to lack of communication between microsoft and 2K but it could be that the Xbox just cant handle the load and 2K is really to blame.
Summary: Owning both systems as of a few days ago, I've played both games. I bought 2k8 and borrowed The Show from a friend. The challenge in 2K8 is not all that much on easy... it's too easy... then it feels like you're playing it on All-Star even though it's medium difficulty. The pitching controls they added are kind of like the controls of EA's SKATE, which doesnt really work for a pitcher interface. The timing of pitches really doesn't work in this game!
Summary: Other than the graphics, this game is horible. I have never play a baseball game that I have disliked as much as this one. It does not play well at all. The pitching interface sucks not to mention the hitting interface. The MLB series (MLB '08: The Show) is the best baseball sim out there. I can not stress this enough. Dont buy this game. It is the worst [...] I have ever spent in my life. I would rather marry my cheating ex wife again than play this game again.
Reminds me of the late 90's bug filled Baseball games

Summary: Fun to play when the game does not freeze up. Too many glitches in Franchise mode to count. Cut scenes are horrible. IMPOSSIBLE TO DRAW A WALK even with the sliders turned completely to the left for AI pitching accuracy. I was very dissapointed considereing this is the 360 and we are now in the year 2008. MVP Baseball 2005 is far supperior to this. This is what happens when there is a monopoly. The game makers get lazy.
Summary: I've been really, really trying to look past the bugs in this game, but I've finally hit my breaking point. This game is so full of bugs that it's unplayable. It literally freezes about 15% of the time for me. And no, it is not my Xbox. As a software developer, I understand that you cannot fix every bug or else you'd never ship. But to deliver a product with massive defects is inexcusable.
Summary: I get 2KSports baseball game every year. When the playability is good, I play entire seasons and its pretty much the only game I play for an entire summer. When the playability is bad, I get through a few games and it goes on the shelf. This game sits on the shelf for me. Too difficult to hit and pitch this year unless you're in rookie mode, and in that mode no fun to hit 15 home runs a game.
