Excerpt: Madden NFL 08 is one of the most disappointing football games I have played in a few years It has taken me quite some time to narrow down the main issue I have with this Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Playstation 2 video game (editor: other versions exist, but are not clumped into his awesome review). The football action does not feel like a real football game, and the Madden assistance for new comers is the opposite of helpful in most cases.
Excerpt: Darn, so what number are we up to here? Sixteen, seventeen? Twenty? I hear it's eighteen, but who can be sure. What am I talking about? The number of Rocky sequels or maybe the number of Star Trek movies? Nope, I'm talking Madden and I'm talking videogames. Which is good since this is a videogame site. I doubt if anyone would care to hear my rock solid dissertation on why Coke is worlds better than Pepsi.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: It's nice to know the incredible levels of pure evil that EA stoop to still exist, and this yearly update of an ancient series goes to show that the bastards haven't lost their touch. It serves as nothing more than a requiem for Sony's aged system, whilst the real new blood surges forward on the NEXT GEN consoles. It's a good game, but it doesn't come highly recommended. Oh, and EA aren't actually any of the things I said, that was merely for comic effect!!!
Summary: Feel what it's like to be a field general making key personnel decisions on both sides of the ball during the game's biggest moments in Madden NFL 08. Play to your team's strengths by reading your opponent's schemes and reacting to the action as soon as the ball is snapped.
Excerpt: While that may not comes as a shock to some of the “fans” of my previous reviews, you have to at least be surprised to hear me admit it. You see, I’ve been living a lie for the past six years and change here at Operation Sports. Now, in my defense, I didn’t realize I was a hypocrite poser till just recently.
Excerpt: American Football and Britons, there isn’t much love in that relationship. Those of us ignorant to the sport may think that it’s just rugby with guys in armour, some of us may have even watched the Super Bowl into the early hours of the morning just to see what the fuss was about, only to find a sixty minute game lasting around three hours. At least by the end of it you’ll have learnt the rules even if you didn’t find the stop/start play engaging.
Summary: Free roaming driving games were once a massive step forward in the driving genre. Nowadays they are simply the norm for a lot of different games. While the Need for Speed series has been possibly the most successful free roaming racing series, there is another, often overlooked contender out there in the form of Rockstar’s Midnight Club series. Well, the club is back, and this time it’s shaking things up in the city of angels.
Pros: Great action camera, Nice audio and graphics, Overall solid experience
Cons: Can be very difficult, Gameplay is nothing new, A few areas don't look so great
