Summary: Just as a counterpoint to the overwhelming good reviews of this game, here are a few things you should know before buying this game. 1) Make sure you enjoy Japanese-style RPGs, because they have a format which, unless you're a fan, can be extremely tedious and repetitive.
Summary: What I would have liked to know before considering buying this game: It has very similar game mechanics to Blue Dragon. Similar turn-based combat, similar skills system, similar annoying kicking of inanimate objects to earn items, similar extensive use of cut-scenes, and even the same monsters.
Fun for Final Fantasy Fans, Annoying for anyone who hates being stuck in front of the TV for ages!

Summary: As a fan of the Final Fantasy games, I rather enjoy playing this one. It's nothing new, but I knew that when I bought it. The one thing that has spurred me to write this review today is that I have just spent over 2 hrs playing this game and did not manage to save it- and this isn't the first time.
