Summary: This game really symbolizes the death of the jrpg. Face it, japanese rpg's are a thing of the past. The last halfway decent one in the last several years is FFXII and even then it had severe pitfalls. This game is everything you have seen before but with a different skin. Sakaguchi, Uematsu, and crew, I love ya but it's time to pass the baton.
Summary: Can I say straight off that I dont get this type of game, so that said what do i think of it. Well my title says it all realy, I thought it looked great but boy does it spend a lot of time on what are silly cut scenes. These Japanese developers need to get out more and experience life. Its all just too silly, the characters are 1 (not even 2) dimensional.
Summary: I'v play about 5hour of this game, at first I found it good cause i'm a turn based RPG lover. BUT WHY ALL THIS PUZZLE WITH CAMERA ROBOT AND BAD ANGLE VIEW!!!! this was good but after 25 try of pass by this stupid level, the game now sleep in is box.
Excerpt: "...You've been warned! ==Story== The story of Lost Odyssey has very little going for it. It's a bog-standard 'Stop him, he's trying to take over the world' plot with a group of so-called 'Immortals' trying to stop this from happening. The plot has so many holes it began to bug me a few hours in. If these 'immortals' are indeed immune to death, why the heck do they die in battle? Why do we need more than one immortal? The main evil guy is immortal, ...
Pros: Emotional Dream Sequences, Interesting 'Ring' element .
Summary: Lost Odyssey is yet another long winded, boring RPG with too much cutscenes, terrible music and god awful fight system. First thing off the bat would be the graphics are terrible. Some of the characters look nice enough but 75% of the textures are over blown and look like they came right out of a PS2. Now that wouldn't be a bad thing but this isnt 2002 anymore.
Summary: I bought this game on the strength of reviews on here and a recomendation from a friend and whilst I have tried to be patient with it and allow it to build up the story after 2/3 hrs of playing it just isnt any fun! Far too many cutscenes, boring repetitve actions and the most rubbish menu system I have ever seen since playing pro-evo games.
Excerpt: Im quite lost with this game to be honest. Its fun to play, but it can get boring at times. The fighting is the same as Final Fantasy (made by the same guy), but way to much walking around. The puzzles can be quite intense at times. The fighting is the best part in my opinion, but then again aint all fighting?. I also found the "dreams" quite boring, and would just skip through them.
Summary: I've been fighting a battle with this game for a while now, do I really like this game or not? It turns out NO. No I don't really like this game. The opening scene manages to captures your attention and gives you a false hope of this game being any good. The first cut scene is pretty dam good, before you know it your Main guy Kaim is placed rite in the middle of a war, (GREAT) but then the game starts to slow down rite down.
Summary: The graphics are great... The game play is drawn out, like the scenes where Characters talk amongst themselves. It's 'very linear', not like Oblivion where you can pretty do what you want, when you want. The Combat if turn-based, is your thing is boring! Every time I have to fight I cringed and sighed in dismay! As I said, graphics and views are totally breathtaking and that's about it. Oblivion was the greatest RPG I have ever played...
