Summary: Argh. This overblown hyped up overly pleased with itself game contains every design that became outdated 2 generations ago. Where it doesn't ccontain archaic design it tries t reinvent the bloody wheel, and gives you little time to learn. If you buy this game prepare to suffer many cheap deaths. There's a reason why JRPGs don't make it on to the 360. Friggin Japan.
Summary: What a load of crap this game is. It is very stagnant, takes ages to do anything and the combat system is one of the worst I have ever seen. Not a big fan of FF by any means, but personally I would rather play that, than troll through FOUR discs of (what is actually pretty good CGI) an interactive movie. LA NOIRE is the only other game I own that has more than one disc and that game is awesome. If you take out the movie sequences, what are you left with?
Summary: I don't normally write reviews (there are plenty already on here), however I feel so strongly about this game I just have to despite reiterating points already made. I don't say this lightly but I found absolutely no enjoyment whatsoever in this game (and that's the main purpose of games right?).
Summary: Basically a long, minimally interactive movie. This might be ok, but the movie is badly acted, badly directed, has a terrible script, and makes no sense much of the time. The game looks pretty, but the engine is clunky - character movement looks ugly, for example. Combat can be quite entertaining, but the the tactical options aren't that varied.
Summary: I am a big fan of rpg's, in particular the final fantasy games, oblivion, and blue dragon. So I bought lost odyssey with high hopes that it would have the same excellent storyline, characterisation and gameplay of the previously mentioned games. Sadly, I found it a let down. You can't make any choices for your character, you can't name your character, strategy is barely called for and I got through the first three discs very quickly- and most of that time was spent...
Excerpt: For Final Fantasy Fans only. This game is a real drag. I managed 2 hours before I couldn't take any more. For the first 5 or so fights you enter you have to sit through painful Tutorials where you don't get to learn by doing the required action. You have to sit and read instructions whilst watching a slide show of screen-shots, I will never understand why they thought though it appropriate to show screen shots of a game, FROM WITHIN THAT SAME GAME!
Summary: There are sections in this game that take hours with no save possible which ends in your death in an instant. I got to the fourth disk, followed the story for as long as possible and then died for no apparent reason in a pretty standard fight and lost 2 hours of unsaved play. There are better thought out RPG's out there. this is very sloppy development. Nice graphics though.
