Summary: The song choice is there, I like how there are the original music videos, and they show your ranking vs the world and your friends on each song. The ability to sync with all the other lip's games is nice, to see all of your songs in one game. you do have to switch discs, however, it would be nice to copy the songs onto your hard drive and play that way. The other negative is the wireless mics, they seem to drain batteries quickly.
Summary: Bought the mics to give me 2 more wireless mics to play the Beatles:Rockband on xbox 360 and it works just as planned. The game that it comes with works well and the girls, 8 and 6 enjoyed few of the songs. But there isn't a whole lot of family oriented songs per se. A few motown which are fun to sing and couple country songs. We played a few of the coop games, one where you had to sing well enough to make the two cartoon characters kiss.
Summary: The game itself is a great game, once you figure out the setup. All that is given for setup is a picture diagram and a paragraph... the main problem is connecting the wireless microphones to the xbox because each microphone also needs a controller connected, but it doesn't say this anywhere... anyways, the game is great, lots of fun.
Summary: We got this game for my 18 year old son for Christmas and we have all had a great time using it as a family. The song selection is good for both the younger and the older and the ability to use your own songs makes it better.
Excerpt: "Lips is the fun-packed karaoke style game for the Xbox 360. Many of you may have played the highly entertaining (or at the very least were forced to play at parties) Singstar series for the Sony Playstation 2. With Lips, you are exposed to the Microsoft attack on the singing game market and in most aspects you won’t be disappointed. It is very difficult to play Lips without comparing it to Singstar which is a little unfair as on its own, Lips is ...
Pros: fun, download songs, easy to play, we all love karaoke really
Excerpt: "We bought this first game with the microphones as it was on offer, though as I can't sing I was dubious as to how much I'd enjoy it. Fortunately, it's very forgiving, and I can score as well as others! So don't be put off by ability, dozens of my friends and family have been around for a pla, and all enjoyed it. The disc has forty songs on it, ranging from golden oldies like "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King and "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, to newer ...
Pros: good choice of songs
Cons: the microphones don't last as long as I'd like on the batteries - get rechargable !
Conclusion: Like most games of this sort you only get so many songs to get you started and you buy any others you want at 160 Xbox credits each. Its a great party game with many songs that both young and older will recognise, although there are songs you would expect to be on there that aren't. And just to be picky Police hit Roxanne was released in 1978 then re-released in April 1979 which is not the 80's, a great song to sing along to anyway.
Excerpt: "==Background== I've always been a sucker for karaoke games going back to Singstar on the PS2. Being completely tone deaf when it comes to singing, the ability to give it a go in my own home where I am not going to embarass myself too much has always been appealing. When my daughter told me she wanted to get this game, I was in two minds as I didnt think it would offer anything new. I decided to buy it nonetheless. ==In the box== The game ...
Pros: Good fun, great party game
Cons: Could do with more tracks, mics can be tricky to synch, single player mode is a bit weak
