Conclusion: I only got it on the off chance it may provide some form of midly amusing entertainment for a day or 2 but boy was i wrong.... it was in my 360 for less than 5hours and that was long enough!!! I was straight back to the shop and returning it for ANYTHING else i could see the very same day. Do yourself the favour of listening to this review and save yourself the torment i have suffered on your behalf If i could give a minus score i would but 1 is the lowest it'll go!!
Excerpt: Like the bad smell that wont go away, the Leisure Suit Larry franchise continues to linger around the games industry, long past what little prime it once had, dragging the good name of mediocrity down into new, uncharted depths with it. This latest caper focuses on Larry from the original game’s lay-about porn-loving nephew, also called Larry. Did you see how tenuously they’ve fixed the story to keep the name similar?
Excerpt: For some reason, the developers at Team17 and the publishers at Codemasters (by way of Funsta) decided that the old formula; a collection of semi-sexual mini-games, was not suitable for the newest iteration of the Leisure Suit Larry series, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust . Instead, they’ve turned it into a linear 3D platformer, and in doing so, have essentially lost everything that made LSL the least bit charming.
Summary: When the Leisure Suit Larry series was revived a few years back in Magna Cum Laude, its bawdy, over-the-top humor and minigame-heavy action seemed geared to capture a new generation of gutter-minded gamers. Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust seems geared to offend, bore, or frustrate anyone who makes the mistake of playing it.
Conclusion: Box Office Bust is one of the poorest games I have played on the 360 to date and I've played X-Men! The broken jumping and fighting mechanics zap out any sort of enjoyment you start to get from the title and the subtle humour of the old Larry games is nowhere to be found. If you want to ogle at deformed pixelated bosoms and partake in some pretty crude humour, Box Office Bust is for you, but even then I would advise you to steer clear.
