More fun but more flaws than other Lego games
28 December 2011
Summary: This game has been the most fun out of all the Lego games (although we haven't tried Harry Potter as we are not fans of the movie). The Lego games are the only games on the Xbox I actually play, my husband and I play them together and enjoy the teamwork and puzzle solving. The fact that we only play this game together though makes it a total failure. Within the very first level the game froze on us so we had to turn off the Xbox and start over from the begining.
Summary: I've loved the LEGO games since the very first Star Wars one I got years ago on the PS2. I've played through Star Wars Complete Saga, Indy 1, and Harry Potter 1 on the Xbox, with no trouble. Maybe it's my system, but... This is the worst LEGO game I have played. The biggest problem is with glitches - of all kinds. I've had characters freeze in spaces they can't get out of (which has happened on rare occasions with others, Indy, SW, and HP).
Summary: As others have mentioned in their reviews, the game freezes constantly, which is incredibly frustrating. I've really enjoyed all the other LEGO games, but this one just seems to have more bugs.
Summary: I am a big fan of both Lego games and Pirates, so I was pretty excited by this entry. It's the standard sort of Lego games, with the main new gameplay element being Jack's compass. The big problem is that this game freezes constantly. Every time I play for 1+ hours I am guaranteed a freeze, which completely loses all my progress. I have no desire to redo the levels in Free Play after having to replay them several times in Story mode.
Summary: I ordered this to play with my 10 year old son, since he enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games so much. We had fun and got 25% through the game in about 3 days of play. When we tried playing again and all of our progress was lost. We experienced this with Lego Indiana Jones 2 for xbox, but at the time figured it was just a fluke. Apparently, it's just how the makers of the Lego series release games. Love the game, hate the bugs. Very disappointed.
Summary: I have been a fan of the Lego games since the start. However the quality has been dipping. After a bug filled Lego Indy 2, Lego HP was better but not being a fan of Potter a little strange to be around. Lego Star Wars 3 then took the series to a low, pointless running around, and "RTS" elements so bad they caused the new Xbox to crash over small things lke number of things on screen.
Excerpt: "...similar platform to the other lego games. I played this game after playing the Harry Potter years 1-4 game and have been quite dissapointed. The game play seemed to be quite confusing and can be very slow to complete simple tasks. While playing the game in a 2 player mode the camera angles were poor and it is very difficult to see certain items. I have also had problems with the characters getting stuck and having to restart the level which is very ...
