Left 4 Dead sets out to do the same thing that Counter-Strike did for co-op gaming in the form of team combat. It is an ambitious survival horror game. Left 4 Dead story runs on the Source engine and leaves four armed survivors in a world overrun with zombies. Their mission is to fight their way out to escape the outbreak. The game is designed for co-op play, requiring four players to work together to finish each stage of the game, through means of lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. On top of the standard four players who get to play as human characters, another four players also get to play as four main zombie characters amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, all of whom are seeking to take down the other players. Players who get to play zombie find themselves becoming one of the four mutant “boss” zombies, each of which have different unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse or even humiliate the only four gun-toting human survivors in the game. The Left 4 Dead is an online multiplayer game with two play options, including 4-players online co-op multiplayer and 8-player online versus multiplayer.

There's absolutely no doubt that Left 4 Dead is one of the most social and exciting multiplayer games that we've ever played. It's almost pitch perfect in how it captures the tension and the action of a Hollywood zombie movie. This is an incredible and highly replayable multiplayer experience that's definitely worth checking out, especially if you're looking to prepare yourself for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. he first question when it comes to downloadable content is always: Is it worth downloading? This question has two parts: 1) is it worth the money it costs to add on to the game, and 2) is it worth the hard drive space it will take up? For the Survival Pack, the answer on both counts is an emphatic "yes." It's free, it cuts out all the running around trying to find zombies to kill, and there are more than 15 playable maps for this mode. What's not to like? Read more

If you like first person shooters, killing zombies, and playing with your friends this is the game for you. This game wasn’t even on my radar of games to buy but because so many of my friends were getting it I decided to give it a try.
