Kameo: Elements of Power Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: Kameo: Elements of Power is the type of launch game that every new console needs. Its cutesy image may not appeal to the hardcore crowd, but the core game is nearly flawless. It’s a game that you’ll want to continue playing – it doesn’t feel like “work”. The characters are imaginative, the visuals are outstanding, and the game is downright fun. Those looking to be blown away by next-gen gameplay might be a bit disappointed.

Kameo: Elements of Power

xboxachievements.com
4 August 2007
  • Conclusion: If you're a fan of action adventure titles such as the Legend of Zelda series, Kameo's a sure bet if you're looking for a good time in an original fantasy gameworld. With graphics that will always look amazing regardless of how much time has passed and how advanced technology has come, the art style is worthy of praise, and it's one of Rare's finest accomplishments yet. The audio is phenomenal, with an excellent musical score and superb sound effects and voice acting.

Kameo: Elements of Power

True achievements
31 December 2006
  • Conclusion: Completionists beware, though, the 0GS achievements will bring down your ranking. Final Thoughts: Although Kameo: Elements of Power was probably an impressive launch title for the 360, it hasn't aged well. A short, shallow story, decent graphics, average gameplay, and hit-or-miss achievements make this game hard to recommend three years after it's release.

Kameo: Elements of Power

Just RPG
25 December 2006
  • Excerpt: Kameo: Elements of Power was easily among the most highly anticipated launch games on the XBox 360. After years of development by renowned developer, Rare, the game has a lot to live up to. It might not fully live up to the hype, but it’s still an amazing gaming experience!

Kameo

Game Boyz
9 November 2006
  • Excerpt: Kameo has taken on many forms over the years, from its humblest beginnings as a Gamecube title (2001), to its present incarnation as a 360-launch title. Rare software broke new ground when it first launched this title in 2001, by combining innovative artistic style and unique Gameplay. When Microsoft announced it was developing a new gaming platform, it also announced Kameo was to be one of its launch titles.

Kameo: Elements of Power

Xbox Evolved
4 September 2006
  • Summary: Rare is back and if you can't admit it, you must have a grudge. Sure this isn't Zelda but I am glad it isn't since it's a brand new experience that will see the daylight in comic books and movies. Yup, if you didn't know, there will be a Kameo animated movie and comic books in the future. Now let's just hope a sequel is already in the works since this game delivered a pleasurable twelve hours of play.
  • Pros: All 10 characters are fun to use. Impressive all around
  • Cons: A tad too short. Needed more massive battles

Kameo: Elements of Power

Deaf Gamers
15 July 2006
  • Excerpt: Kameo: Elements of Power, an introduction. It seems like I've waited ages to play Kameo. The game that was bound for the GameCube and then the Xbox has finally arrived on the Xbox 360. Was it worth waiting for? Well there are many reviews out there that have, to be frank, rubbished the game. Whilst we all have our own opinions, I can't honestly see were these reviewers are coming from.
