Looks great, does NOT drive well

Summary: I bought this based on the title and having gone to time trails many times during the late '60's thru the '70's. The games looks great, but the driving characteristics are horrible. You can't keep up with the opponents. It always drives off the track. Even on the easy settings it's way to difficult to have any fun. There's just no car control. At least my son likes it, because he likes all the crashing that he does. I have other race games that are way more fun.
Summary: Indy500 Evolutions is already several years old by the time I picked up this game. I expected older graphics, and from the mixed reviews I assumed it would be a nostalgia pickup with little play value. After all, I have had Forza 4 for a while now, and am eagerly awaiting Forza 5 when Indycar racing returns to console! This brings us to this purchase: unable to wait for my open wheel fix, I saw this little game for xBox360. I am really glad I did.
Summary: It is almost impossible to even get through a race without other cars crashing into you...sometimes even as soon as the race starts. Unless you are way out in front, cars will crash into you from behind or from the sides. When there is contact with another car, it often results in the cars locking together and the race is pretty much finished because you can't get loose from the other car.
Summary: Overall, I am happy with the game. I had read other buyers reviews and pretty much understood what I was going to get. The historical aspect of this game is probably going to be a huge selling point for many who like that era of Indy car racing. But if you are looking for a graphically superior game with infinitely adjustable and tunable cars, it's probably not for you.
Summary: This is a good game to pick up if you're playing on the steering wheel. Don't play this on the controller as it doesn't feel like you're driving it. I recommend it to the people who wants realistic car handling.
Summary: I think this one is a great sim and the price is right. It's not bad in the graphics department in my opinion, especially for a budget title. I liked seeing all the old racers and being able to qualify in the races as them or against them. The old tracks are here too from '61 to '71 and I think they did a good job rendering them. Don't expect GT 5 or Forza 3, but at the budget price I think its a good game for all that's included in it.
