True achievements
23 December 2010
  • Conclusion: In order to Bronze and then Gold every event, you will have to do ALL 8 tracks on EXPERT in one run-through for each of the game modes (you can however, restart each individual event, and quit out and return later. But still, that doesn't make it any easier.) ~~Thanks to McGubbalo for this difficult achievement warning. COMPLETIONISTS, BEWARE!

Half-Minute Hero

Square-Go
22 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Sometimes, a game is so perfectly in tune with what you wanted it to be, you almost have to pinch yourself. For most of the time, Half-minute Hero is that game. Hydro Thunder Hurricane

Square-Go
20 December 2010
  • Excerpt: If the name Guido Cappellini does not ring a bell, it is because the sport he excels in, F1 Powerboat Racing, is uncommon in Britain. But its American popularity led to Hydro Thunder Hurricane’s prequel, a popular arcade title that was ported to the Dreamcast and contemporary consoles. Hurricane does not break from its arcade heritage and pits players against one another in three distinct game types: Race, Ring Master and Gauntlet.

Fantasy boat racer offers good, clean, high-speed fun.

Common Sense Media
9 December 2010
  • Summary: Parents need to know that Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a fantasy boat racing game. There is some violence -- boats explode -- but the drivers are never injured, and the high-speed aquatic action is so over-the-top that there is little risk of any players attempting to simulate it in the real world.
