Summary: Okay, okay, I know; who, in 2013, has not either read or watched the entire Harry Potter series? My 8-year-old son. We're reading the 3rd book in the series and watching the movies after completing each book. It's incredibly magical to see him so gripped and captivated by a book, and it's a wonderful bonding experience for us. Well, this game will systematically reveal every important point in the Harry Potter series, from beginning to end, within a matter of minutes.
Summary: This game is a big flop. I've read all the many negative reviews online but got my 8 year old this game for xmas anyway, since he is a harry potter fan. He finished year one with a blank look on his face and quietly shut it off, and hasnt played it since. There is very little interactivity or excitement in this game. I would highly recommend renting it if you really want to play it. Otherwise don't worry, you're not missing anything.
Summary: I have been a huge HP fan since the beginning. I, like many others, have grown up with the books & movie franchise. When I found out they were making one more video game, I had to have it. I recently got it for Christmas & I couldn't have been happier; I was so excited to start playing it. It wasn't until I finished year one within 15 mins of starting, that I realized that this game was terrible - I finished the game within 3 hours. The "Movie Mode" is also terrible.
Summary: The game has bugs. If more than 1 person plays, the scenes often get stuck. In order to move forward in the game one must stop the game and begin again. Graphics are nothing to rave about. We bought two games for our son and this was the one he was looking forward too, in the end he enjoyed cheaper, but better made game.
Summary: I'm really disappointed. The only reason this game would be fun is if you were 10 years old. It is extremely short and repetitive. The graphics are good unless you try to put your face into it; the first time I was a black blob and the second time my friend was a red blob. I have a hard time getting the sensor to read my motions right but it doesn't matter. I can manage to get through each year in about 10-15 minutes- it's really short.
Summary: I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and was really looking forward to this game. The game was reasonably good at registering my wand movements in class, but the bigger movements were the issue for me. The troll sequence at the beginning would not register my jump. It obviously wants a much bigger jump than a grown up fan (with a hit replacement) can manage. I can't get past that point to try the rest of the game. I am hoping there's a way to play just using the controller.
Summary: I will forever read reviews before buying another video game for kinnect. The kinnect is a really cool thing, but some of the games that come along with it can be pretty hit or miss, and as a forever HP fan, I have to say this game is a giant miss. Year one literally has four things to unlock, and the only challenge you encounter trying to reach voldemort before he gets the stone, is the flying keys, and you don't even get to fly around?
