NBA 2K7 Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: This is the basketball game to own this season. NBA 2K7 advances the classic basketball formula to deliver the best playing game in quite some time. Nice touches like offering the various draft classes from the past six years are great to see. The online features coupled with the franchise and 24/7 modes are enough gameplay to keep even the best ballers busy for months to come. This could very well be 2K Sports’ finest work since the original NFL 2K on the Dreamcast.

Gears of War 2

GAMESQUAD
2 December 2008
  • Conclusion: Cliffy B. must have been well aware that Gears 2 would come under increased scrutiny, would be dissected even more closely than the original, because once the glossy veneer of a beautifully constructed object loses its appeal, your left just with a table, chair, or other mundane thing. But Epic has adorned their pretty, gory little thing with so much new stuff (for lack of a better term), and placed it just so, that it feels exhilarating all over again.
  • Pros: Visceral, bloody combat; cover system strategy; brilliant atmosphere and voice acting; great variety in scenarios, combat, levels, and gameplay; robust multiplayer includes co-op and new Horde mode; beautiful visuals and production values; imaginative and thrilling through and through.
  • Cons: Ham-fisted and failed attempt at introducing an emotional subplot; sometimes clunky controls; online competitive multiplayer is not for the faint of heart; doesn’t carry the same impact as the original.

Gun

Xbox 360 achievements
10 March 2008
  • Conclusion: The game delivers a great story, includes great achievements, and a wonderful all-star cast of actors to bring the wild west in your rooms. Gun is definitely the best western game on the 360 to date, and the best western game to hit shelves in a long time. Definitely not a game to pass up, it's great for anyone.

Expert Review

Inside Hotwire 3D
23 October 2006
  • Conclusion: The rest of the audio bring in a cinematic spectacle to the action scenes. The sound effects for human grunts, horses, and explosions in the background deliver a convincing tone; even the weapons themselves feel like they pack serious wallop! But the music isn’t all that great. Most of the time, it’s muffled and faint. But that’s going to be the least of your concerns since you’ll be paying more attention to the action than to the music.

Beyond Good & Evil Review

AtomicGamer
12 January 2004
  • Excerpt: Ubisoft has delivered an excellent game right under the nose of unsuspecting gamers with their action/adventure game Beyond Good & Evil. It's recently been in the gaming news because Ubi has decided to cut its price down to bargain bin levels, and I'd have to say that after playing it, anyone who likes a Zelda-style romp would be doing themselves a real disservice to pass this game by.

The Best Western Game Around!

Britxbox
28 November 2005
  • Conclusion: Just when the Tony Hawks series begins to run out of steam, developers Neversoft gallop into view with a new IP. GUN is a third person shooter set in the Wild West that incorporates free roaming elements, ala Grand Theft Auto, with the high production values of a Hollywood action movie. With so little competition in the genre, does GUN set the standard?
