Guitar Hero Metallica

Guitar Hero Metallica is a game developed by Neversoft and published by Activision Inc. for the Xbox 360 game console. The game puts gamers in a new Guitar Hero experience, only this time featuring Metallica, one of the greatest metal band of all time, and musicians selected by the band, which includes Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters and Queen. The game requires gamers to test their skill with an array of Metallica’s music as they shred guitar, rip on drums and wail to songs that span the band’s illustrious career. Guitar Hero Metallica’s set list is comprised of over 45 metal and rock hits from Metallica and other artists that are performed in venues reminiscent of the band’s epic album covers, themes from their music and real world locales.

Features

Guitar Hero Metallica features over 20 Superstar Guest Acts, with acts chosen by Metallica ranging from Queen, to Alice in Chains, Lynrd Skynrd and the Foo Fighters, jam to a wide variety of high-energy rock for Guitar Hero. It allows to indulge themselves with music of bands Metallica has collaborated with, the music that inspired them, and acts they admired. The game also features authentic Metallica experience through full on Metallica by playing as the band with their motion captured moves and likeness capturing the full presence and intensity of James, Lars, Kirk and Robert. It also takes the users on stage at venues featuring famous Metallica stages and iconic imagery. All tracks and content are “Metallica Approved.” Other features on the game are full Guitar Hero World Tour feature set - all the instruments are back in the next Guitar Hero: rock on guitar, bass, vocals and drums. Up to 4 players can join together and rock locally, or battle other bands online with up to 8 players; “Rock Star Creator” that allows gamers to play with friends online; Music Studio and the user-created music sharing service, GH Tunes and Death Magnetic downloadable content. The game supports two kick pedals in a new “Expert +” mode, letting gamers drum like Lars on two bass drums. It also features videos straight from Metallica concerts and the option to test gamer’s Metallica know-how on any song to beat the game with facts on the band’s history, and how guest acts are tied to Metallica. Metallica has added their own touch from the attacks in Battle Mode to the effects in the Music Studio.

Dave Mustaine was to be Metallica's original guitarist. He wrote most of the Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightining albums. Due to a disagreement with the band, he was fired, and ended up forming Megadeth. Read more

The Metallica integration goes deeper than the music itself – the band members all appear in the game, although career mode finds you playing not as anyone IN Metallica, but as the band opening for them while on tour. You can use some Metallica samples in the music creation mode. Many venues important to the band’s career have been included. There’s also a ton of extra Metallica memorabilia: photos, obscure videos and trivia. The visual look is darker and more... Read more

While the GHTunes music creator is still entirely uninteresting the rest of the package is of such high quality that it’s easy to recommend. However the game is still very much overpriced since there isn’t much beyond what you get on disk. Other than the Death Magnetic full album download there doesn’t seem to be any real downloadable content on the horizon and that means that you’re basically paying sixty bucks for a game that is eventually going to go stale,... This game is a lot of fun and it has many of Metallica's greatest songs plus a lot of other artists that you would have listened to in the 80s all the way through today. It's basically your favorite rock station on one game. I recommend it! Guitar Hero Metallica Read more or see product

Fun: Got a Band Hero bundle last week because i wanted to have drums. The kick pedal was a disaster, barely registered any hits, had to fix it myself, adhesive tape on the sensor, blabla, I'm still trying to get it to a sensitivity level that's comfortable. Green tom sometimes registers when i hit the orange cymbal. As for the new guitar? Strummer failure in less than 2 hours. Awesome, no? Also, the internals are different, it has the old-style GH3 switches, the strum... Read more or see product

The concept of a metallica guitar hero game is ingenious, because nothing symbolizes guitar hero more perfectly than metallica. Each started out small, with a small group of extremely loyal fans. Gradually, as they became more popular, they changed, until now, they have completely forgotten what made them successful in the first place, and spend too much time thinking they're painfully awesome to make an attempt to please fans. When playing, you will feel disappointed,... Read more
