Grand Slam Tennis 2 – Review (360, PS3)

mature-gaming.com
7 September 2013
  • Excerpt: It’s fair to say that EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis has a lot to live up to.  Although the tennis game market is not exactly saturated, it is, however, dominated by two other titles that consistently stand up to scrutiny. EA Sports do have a tendency to try and attempt sports that deviate from their staple franchise releases with the original Grand Slam Tennis being a paultry offering on the Wii that offered up a, shall we say, treat for the “family”.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 Review

NowGamer
2 October 2012
  • Conclusion: Still, with a cast of legends past and present, a healthy smattering of modes and that trademark EA veneer, Grand Slam Tennis 2 is a solid enough release, if perhaps one more likely to win in a fifth set tiebreak than in straight sets.

  • Conclusion: But if you play through 10 seasons you will surely get it. overall this game is very good especially the superb gameplay but the career lets it down just not as enjoyable or longlasting as other tennis games due to it being boring. thanks for reading, this is only my 2nd review so may be a bit shit......

More realistic tennis sequel straddles arcade and sim.

Common Sense Media
12 April 2012
  • Summary: Parents need to know that EA Sports' Grand Slam Tennis 2 is a sports simulation based on professional tennis. It does allow players to compete online, where kids could be subjected to inappropriate language or conversations as both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game support unmoderated voice chat via headset microphone.

  • Excerpt: When I first took GST2 home, loaded the disc into my PS3, and found a home for the case in my library, I noticed that not only have I played and/or reviewed a few tennis games in the past year or so but more alarmingly that there are quite a few big name code shops actually making tennis games (and I'm not even including the min -game area like Wii Sports).

  • Excerpt: Another year and another EA Sports game is released — this time however it's not another Madden (at least not yet), but rather, a new tennis game. Grand Slam Tennis 2 volleys to your console promising the most deep and realistic tennis experience you have ever played, while also offering some of the greatest tennis pros to play as or against.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 Review (Xbox 360)

Gamers Daily News
29 February 2012
  • Summary: I have to say that Grand Slam Tennis 2 is a good tennis game. It represents the genre and sport well but lacks that authenticity which is really hard to get in sports games anyway. It seems like they lock you in and make you play hour after hour just to get to the challenging part. That got old quick and even the classic matches were not really all that challenging.

  • Excerpt: As a general rule, we try not to judge things based on their covers because they generally misrepresent what’s on the inside. When you pick up a game box and are greeted by a very vintage looking John McEnroe together with Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova, however, you can’t help but have your interests piqued.
