Grand Slam Tennis 2 – Review (360, PS3)

mature-gaming.com
7 September 2013
  • Excerpt: It’s fair to say that EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis has a lot to live up to.  Although the tennis game market is not exactly saturated, it is, however, dominated by two other titles that consistently stand up to scrutiny. EA Sports do have a tendency to try and attempt sports that deviate from their staple franchise releases with the original Grand Slam Tennis being a paultry offering on the Wii that offered up a, shall we say, treat for the “family”.

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: In 2009, I was one of the first purchasers of the then new and innovative Grand Slam Tennis title from EA Sports. It was only being released on the Wii, and at that time, Wii Motion Plus was just being released. As a fan, player, and lover of the game of tennis, I was excited to jump into the experience with my new and improved Wii Remote. In short, the game was a lot of fun.

  • Conclusion: But if you play through 10 seasons you will surely get it. overall this game is very good especially the superb gameplay but the career lets it down just not as enjoyable or longlasting as other tennis games due to it being boring. thanks for reading, this is only my 2nd review so may be a bit shit......

Grand Slam Tennis 2

The Gamers Temple
12 March 2012
  • Excerpt: In many ways, Grand Slam Tennis 2 is a tennis fan's dream. A large roster populated by tennis greats past and present, all four Grand Slam events and the courts they're played on, and John McEnroe serving as both your in-game coach and part of the broadcast team for your matches. However, it's not really a videogame fan's dream, with rather bland presentation, a lackluster career mode, and a lack of challenge.

  • Excerpt: Another year and another EA Sports game is released — this time however it's not another Madden (at least not yet), but rather, a new tennis game. Grand Slam Tennis 2 volleys to your console promising the most deep and realistic tennis experience you have ever played, while also offering some of the greatest tennis pros to play as or against.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 Review (Xbox 360)

Gamers Daily News
29 February 2012
  • Summary: I have to say that Grand Slam Tennis 2 is a good tennis game. It represents the genre and sport well but lacks that authenticity which is really hard to get in sports games anyway. It seems like they lock you in and make you play hour after hour just to get to the challenging part. That got old quick and even the classic matches were not really all that challenging.

  • Excerpt: As a general rule, we try not to judge things based on their covers because they generally misrepresent what’s on the inside. When you pick up a game box and are greeted by a very vintage looking John McEnroe together with Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova, however, you can’t help but have your interests piqued.
