Ghostbusters: The Video Game is a gorgeous game. It just looks great. The game's CGI strikes a nice balance of realistic- and caricature-looking, with facial expressions that are subtly impressive. Especially when the lines are delivered by a cast that sounds like they're actually having fun doing this. The story will make you appreciate the original movie all over again when you realize that little references in it have been fleshed out. A lot of love was put into every... Read more

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is clearly made for Ghostbusters fans, by Ghostbusters fans. That’s not to say those unfamiliar with the Ghostbusters won’t enjoy it, but it’s definitely a more enjoyable game if you have seen the movies and can appreciate the story and humor a bit more. The original cast is here, and despite Bill Murray sounding kind of bored during a lot of the game, their voices make the experience that much better. The story is pretty much what... Read more

If you've been waiting for Ghostbusters 3 or simply a video game that does the classic series justice, Ghostbusters: The Video Game won't disappoint. The attention to detail here shames most other movie-licensed titles and there's plenty of fan service that will please gamers and non-gamers alike. Had the core game been more focussed on the hunting and trapping we'd have had a potential classic, but even with issues (some poor weapons, difficulty spikes and disappointing... Read more

"Ghostbusters" is pretty hit-and-miss. In some parts it looks fantastic, and in others, pretty shoddy. In some parts, it’s really funny, and in other parts, it falls flat. The multiplayer can be pretty fun, but it’s pretty glitchy. The base gameplay is really fun, but the game is really, really short. If you can look past a multitude of flaws, what you’re left with is a really worthwhile game, especially for fans of the films. However, this is not yet 'a must-buy'... Read more

Games based on film and TV properties are generally so bad that it's cliché to even talk about how bad they are. The number of disasters-on-a-disc released to coincide with other types of media is so long that it's not even worth attempting to guess how many there are—but there are a lot. As a critic who's been playing games for over two decades, following the rule "if it's licensed, skip it" has served me very well. Until now, that is. Flying in the face of the... Read more

This is a must have for any GB fan/Gamer. I'm happy with the storyline, graphics, sound fx, gadgets, everything. Only cons to me are....The loading time between cut scenes and gameplay could have been faster, and it sucks that you can only do Multiplayer online. Wish it could be done on Career as well. And oh yes the BIG CON is I so wish the controller would vibrate when you use the proton packs. I was so expecting that. But honestly, that is the only true... Read more

This is a game I just knew was going to suck. It's not that many games based on movies that do well and this licence has been sitting almost 20 years with little to no activity. However I am really surprised at how well it plays! Even when I read awhile back that this would be the definitive 3rd movie (actually now there is talk that a 'real celluloid' movie coming) I wondered how they would pull this off. I must say that using the writing as well as voice talents of the... Read more

"Ghostbusters: The Video Game" was great, I thought. This game is THE reason I wanted an Xbox 360 in the first place. The game has three difficulty levels - Beginner, Experienced and Professional. The default setting is "Experienced". That's where I left it for my first time through the game. Parts of it were challenging. Other parts I walked right through. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and plan to see what the other two difficulty levels are like. The only change... Let me just say this right off the bat, anyone who was going to buy Ghostbusters already bought it. This review is simply for the Gamers still unsure of making the leap to this game. If you are one of those people who are still unsure if you should make the purchase, read on, and put aside about $60. First things first. No, Ghostbusters the Video Game is not as good as the movies. I am a self proclaimed Ghostbusters fan. I even loved the second movie almost as much as... Read more
