Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage

Thunderbolt Games
11 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Fist of the North Star is a love story. It’s a love story between a man and his fists—fists that make people explode. Realizing it would be selfish to keep this love all to himself, he journeys into the world to share his exploding fists with whomever will have them. Thus begins Kenshiro’s quest to teach the world how to love once more.

Game Freaks 365

  • Excerpt: You know that you are playing a bad game when the characters don’t attack, the mission objectives never change, and the graphics look like they are about five years outdated. Regrettably, that is a pretty apt description of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage. Based on an anime, this Dynasty Warriors clone is a subpar beat-em-up that can entertain for short bursts, but manages to drag on monotonously after a while of playing.

Koei Proves The ‘80s Are Best Left In The ‘80s

Game Informer
4 November 2010
  • Conclusion: Concept: Take a nearly forgotten anime and give it the Dynasty Warriors treatment Graphics: Koei must have glanced at the color spectrum and decided to stick with brown. Most of the backgrounds look like they were hit by the apocalypse Sound: The game allows you to listen to the original Japanese voiceovers, which is great because I immediately wanted to mute the English ones Playability: The generic combo system requires no skill, and some of the platforming sequences...

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage

oxmonline.com
3 November 2010
  • Excerpt: Fist of the North Star is an easy sell, especially as a game. Main-man Kenshiro punches men so hard that they literally explode, and the goofy post-apocalypse world is packed with crazy characters, like burly knuckleheads with pigtails. But surprisingly, punching fools who look like Pippi Longstockings until their guts burst just isn’t enjoyable in Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage.
  • Pros: + As ridiculous as its source material in all the right ways.
  • Cons: - Stiff, slow, and same-y combat; worthless if you’re not an über-fan., - Crap level design, enemy A.I., and boss fights., ? Who’s buying these games...and why?!

Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage

Console Monster
29 March 2011
  • Summary: Fist of the North Star has a pretty interesting history. Starting out as a manga in the 80s, it swiftly grew in popularity and spawned a popular anime series. Unusual at the time of Thundercats and the like due to its martial arts ass kickery and heavily Mad Max influenced style, which too grew in popularity. It's since had a number of video game adaptations, mainly in arcades, and it's now the 360’s time to get a dose of the action.
  • Pros: Signature moves are flashy, There is a lot to do, if you can be bothered, Dream Mode is interesting
  • Cons: Every location is cut from the same cloth, Combat is repetitive and dull, There is absolutely nothing new here

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage

  • Conclusion: Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage ist schlichtweg fantasielos.

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage - Review

Gamezapp
7 December 2010
  • Cons: wirre Handlung, unsaubere Animationen, triste Grafik
