Summary: Pros: Fun battle system and Flashy battle animations and effects. New Game + Cons: Convoluted and dumb story. Infinite side quests felt seriously lacking. Short length to complete. Constantly feeling rushed by time limit and can't explore thoroughly. At most, a guaranteed rental if you got a few hours to spare. Save money and use it on Dark Souls 2 if you have money to spend. That's a better value for your money. This might be worth 20 bucks or less when price drops.
Summary: The combat and class (barbie dress up system) really carry this game. Sadly, the weak points of the 13 series are still present: poor dialogue/localization and a nebulous story with unexplained references to the universe's lore.
Summary: The game would have been much better if it didn't expect you to play though multiple time to get everything, you cant even upgrade weapons until you complete it first and start a new game + on hard mode. monsters are very limited, as are the spell's. the garb system, while full of pretty outfits, feels clunky and lacking any real substance. All the outfits dont mean anything once you find the best set for each role.
Summary: I love the gameplay. The battle system is awesome, though everyone I talk to thinks I'm a pervert. Me, "you change her outfit to change her abilities." Other person, "What??" I hate the time concept of the game, it ruins the game like Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was also ruined. I like to do everything possible in Final Fantasy games but now I can't take my time and go slow. I had to order a guide to figure things out fast enough to avoid the timer.
Summary: I wouldn't say that this is a bad game by any means. It's a little rough around the edges and has it's oddities. I'll start off with the battle system: The battle system is the main selling point of this game. The main issue that I had with the first XIII game is that you're constantly pressing A while fumbling around menus. That's been fixed. Your battle actions are now hotkeyed to four buttons.
