Summary: If you like to play serious soccer video games, this may be for you, but if you just dont have the time to learn all the details of this game you might as well just leave it on the shelf. The graphics are good and the options are great, but the game is a major disapointment for casual gamers. The amateur mode is very difficult and seems to get harder when you play in different leagues.
Summary: I really long for the days when games played like games. The days when one had a few options and at least some of the options were good. With the growth of the few titans of the industry, we are subjected to various versions of repackaged garbage year after year. Fifa 07 was a mess plain and simple. I had hoped that having another year to tinker with this on a new platform would finally generate some quality. Once again I have been utterly disappointed.
Summary: You might already be confused by the rating I gave to this game but let me explain. FIFA 08 is a great game, with the best gameplay ever in the FIFA series. The soundtrack can easily satisfy most listeners, the graphics are imperessive as always, the commentary although repetitive still good and at times even pleasent, the BE A PRO mode is insanely amazing and very well done...I could go on and on about how great this game is.
Summary: The amount of chances EA has had to make fifa a good decent, realistic game is insane, because they have failed at every attempt. No, I'm not a pro evo fanboy, i've never even played one.. I'm starting to wish i had. So whats wrong with it? Every player has disproportionate heads, whilst funny, makes you wonder who the hell is who despite the name on the jersey.
Summary: Had this game since Christmas and have played it quite extensivley. Completed afew season on semi-pro and found the game overall to be very very good. Multi player is also great fun. Overall a great game. HOWEVER, decided to step up to Proffessional mode as i was winning everything...things changed!! Your players become utterly stupid and unable to remember how to play football.
Conclusion: Where are the real heads. Too slow gameplay, Pro Evo 2008 was bad but still better than this. Too easy to get bored with, FIFA 07 was better, however it appears to be back on form with the new 09 version which is very good judging by the demo. And finally, well yeah, it sucks!!
Summary: Where to begin? Well it firstly it was a major surprise when I first started the Xbox 360 version of Fifa 08 up for the first time. Having played the Pc version I was pretty thrown by how different the "New Generation" version was! I'm a little annoyed that nobody else mentioned this before because in my opinion, Xbox Fifa 08 and Pc Fifa 08 are completely different games.
Summary: EA do the same with every game, promise so much and deliver so little. As with games like battlefield and the need for speed series, fifa looks really good but it's a pretty basic game with poor rules. you can't switch player at the right time, it always passes to the wrong person just when you need it at a specific person to shoot or make a vital tackle.
Summary: Once again FIFA have brought out a new game with one new thing in it so they can call it 'new'. This year you have the ability to be able to pull of skill moves, which frankly, arent as amazing as they sound. But nevertheless, its a good new feature. As always the graphics have been sharpened slightly and for most people they will be ok, but if you compare them to PES 2008 graphics then they are by far second best.
Summary: I know demos can only give so much , and the start kick about with just you and goalie was fun ( wish the whole game could be played like this , remember Libero Grande for Playstation 1?? classic!! ) anyhoo apart from update on graphics FIFA 08 demo doesnt inspire me to rush out and buy. Just hope PES08 finally gives us a proper playable footy game on the 360.
