  • Conclusion: I would suggest finding people via forums or even suggesting the game to friends if you have an urge to play over LIVE. Summary: This is a simple and fun racer, there are plenty of weapons and tracks to keep you entertained, however once you have played for a couple of hours, you’ll probably want to give it a break. As the game is not very widely known or popular, you can pick it up at a low price.

  • Conclusion: Fatal Inertia just simply doesn’t deliver in any area you’d expect from a racing game and there are simply better games out there for far less money. The concept of high speed pod racing has pretty much been done to death nowadays so if you are going to attempt to enter into the genre then you must at least get the basics right and also do your best to offer something radically different to boot. Koei offer you neither of these which is a shame.

Xbox 360 Review - 'Fatal Inertia'

WorthPlaying
12 October 2007
  • Summary: Fatal Inertia mixes street racing, demolition derbies and rallying with a futuristic setting where machines no longer need wheels and the laws of physics govern all. The sport is called Inertia and it's one that offers a heady mix of speed, combat and real world environments that can be used to make your victory and break your opponents.

Fatal Inertia

GameTrailers
18 September 2007
  • Excerpt: Ever since F-Zero graced the Super Nintendo’s launch lineup, other game developers have been trying to emulate it. Psygnosis did a fine job with the Wipeout series, but other than that, there have been very few futuristic combat racers that were memorable for anything but being absurdly bad. Koei Canada’s rookie release is hoping to become part of the former group. Race fans, it seems, are never satisfied.

  • Excerpt: I’ll be honest. When I sat down with the task of reviewing Fatal Inertia I didn’t have high hopes. Having followed the game’s coverage since its announcement back in 2005 (originally billed as a PS3-exclusive launch title) and playing the dreary demo in August, I feared the worst.

Fatal Inertia

Gamecell

  • Conclusion: Fatal Intertia puts you in a race series where you’re piloting a hovering race vehicle which can hit speeds of 900km/h. Some tracks are wide open with easy turns and are set around tropical islands with beautiful clear blue water, others are narrow and twisty, making you drive through lava filled canyons - I wouldn’t recommend doing supersonic speeds through the latter.
  • Pros: Some fun racing, Original control, Excellent weapons
  • Cons: The controls are too punishing
