Hybrid Review

GamerNode
4 October 2012
  • Summary: There's nothing I like more than a fresh idea, especially when it comes from a source I wouldn't expect. Hybrid is a commendable shooter, but the novelty of its new features may wane before too long.
  • Pros: Unique take on an overpopulated genre, A lot of options for a $15 downloadable
  • Cons: Takes a really long time to find a match, Won't be stealing Halo or Call of Duty's thunder any time soon

Hybrid (Xbox360)

EL33TONLINE
28 August 2012
  • Excerpt: is something that is made by combining two different elements (i.e. a mixture). The Xbox LIVE Arcade title, Hybrid, is an interesting game whose game design elements mimic its name. Hybrid is an online-only multiplayer cover-based shooter based on Valve’s Source game engine. Despite my misgivings with the game, it surely does break a lot of preconceived ideas of how a shooter can be played with its mixture (and also rethinking) of classic shooter elements from other...

Hybrid

  • Conclusion: In all, Hybrid may shy away from the full potential of its selling-point via lacklustre map design and unimaginative weapons, but as a complete game its mechanical innovations make it stand apart from the crowd. At the very least, this desire to innovate and bring to the foreground the action of the shooter while removing the movement makes it a unique experience within a crowded and tired genre.

Jetpacks Can Only Get You So Far

Game Informer
13 August 2012
  • Conclusion: Concept: A multiplayer third-person shooter with high-flying combat and a persistent world map Graphics: Graphics are crisp and clear, but most of the environments look the same Sound: Music is more prominent in the between-match lobby than the matches themselves, which leaves the audio landscape sparse Playability: Pick-up-and-play controls are easy to learn, but beware of long matchmaking times Entertainment: While fun, multiplayer modes lack innovation and staying...

Fable II

ccgr.org
20 September 2009
  • Excerpt: Choice is a feature that has always been a big seller in games. Almost every game offers more and more choices you can make, from what side you take to what clothes you wear. Fable 2 is all about choice, which makes it kind of hard to review from a moral standpoint. If you play with good intentions, the game could do pretty well. On the other hand, if you play with evil intentions you can be downright nasty. However, I’ll get back to that later.
  • Pros: The game provides a lot of choices that actually affect the world around you. The graphical style subverts most limitations, and the audio is fitting.
  • Cons: Combat can be awkward and interacting with the world sometimes requires extra work. There are a number glitches that can occur, especially around the family.

Fable II: Knothole Island

D+PAD
20 January 2009
  • Conclusion: Yet, part of the appeal of Knothole Island, though, is in its exclusivity. It’s the VIP lounge equivalent of Fable II content, and an area crafted especially to preach to the choir. Just don’t expect it to come cheap.

Fable II: Knothole Island Review

GamerNode
16 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Fable II was, by and large, a collection of empty promises. The infamous Peter Molyneux hamper of empty promises, washed down with bitter fan-base wine, was once again ruining our picnic. While he did indeed deliver on some new aspects of the franchise, we were still left wanting a Fable title that did everything he said it could, at least by the third time around. So when I booted up my copy of the sequel, and began the new DLC quest, I was a man of extreme skepticism.

Fable II Pub Games [Xbox Live Arcade]

Gamer vision
13 August 2008
  • Excerpt: Name: Fable II Pub Games Genre: Gambling Platform: Xbox Live Arcade Fable II Pub Games has gone live today allowing anyone who preordered the game (if promotional code works) or wants to purchase it on Xbox Live to begin collecting gold, items, and concept art. The gimmick of being able to begin accumulating wealth before beginning Fable II is interesting, and as long as the Pub Games are fun I could have seen this as being a huge addition to the game.
