FEAR Files

  • Pros: Time-altering is timeless, Enemy AI is still pretty great, First FEAR is awesome by comparison
  • Cons: Crushingly bad retro looks, Terrible value for money, Shit-brown hallways

  • Excerpt: is another beast entirely. It's generic, it's repetitive, and it's just plain bad. You're put in the shoes of a new character... who has all of the same powers and abilities as the last character and who for all intents and purposes is the last character. You play with a second squad inserted partway through the last game. The story just feels silly here and the game isn't helped by the repetitive level design.

  • Excerpt: I remember being enamored with F.E.A.R. when it originally came out on the PC. Monolith Games knew exactly how to terrify gamers across the globe and reignite the horror genre on PC / consoles. Unfortunately, they had nothing to do with the sequel F.E.A.R. Files. Instead, Sierra offered the job to TimeGate & Day 1 Studios and the lack of the original talent couldnt be any more evident.

F.E.A.R. Files

Gamecell
17 December 2007
  • Conclusion: You get a decent set of options (ranked or quick match, custom match, create a match, elimination, slo-mo deathmatch, slo-mo CTF, team deathmatch, team elimination, leaderboards etc) and they all play well. The complex but compact maps allow for some hectic and action-packed fragging, but although it plays well enough, it isn’t going to keep anyone away from Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 for long.
  • Pros: 2 stories in one, Amazing slow-motion effects and physics, Some good, scary moments, Some cool weapons and in-game action, Some smart AI
  • Cons: Mostly claustrophobic levels, Gets samey quickly, Graphically unimpressive at times

F.E.A.R. Files Review (360)

8 December 2007
  • Excerpt: An average tactical shooter with some scary bits chucked in Games that set out to scare you are becoming more and more commonplace, with games like resident evil and bioshock, as well as other horror based games. None however achieve the effect better than F.E.A.R. Having not played a lot of the first game, the concept of fear. is relatively new to me, but I picked up the game’s style quite quickly.
  • Pros: Good Enemy AI, Good assortment of weapons
  • Cons: Environments are unvaried, story is not understandable if you havent played the first fear, graphics are old

F.E.A.R. Files

gamereality.org
18 December 2013
  • Excerpt: "F.E.A.R. Files pitää sisällään PC:lle jo viime vuoden lopulla julkaistun Extraction Point lisälevyn, sekä täysin uuden lisälevyn nimeltä Perseus Mandate. Harmi vain, että lisälevyistä molemmat ovat enemmän tai vähemmän huonoja kiikkuen juuri ja juuri pelattavuuden rajamailla. Sanomattakin on selvää, ettei kumpikaan lisälevyistä yllä loistavan alkuperäispelin tasolle. Vivendin on seuraavaksi syytä vaihtaa kehittäjätiimiä, jotta sana F.E.A.R.
  • Pros: + Kaksi lisälevyä samassa paketissa..
  • Cons: - ..Joista molemmat ovat enemmän tai vähemmän huonoja, - Visuaalisesti mitäänsanomatonta jälkeä
