Conclusion: I'm a wrestling fan, which is why I rented this. I secretly hope that every next wrestling game that is not Smackdown vs. Raw will be like No Mercy, or Wrestlemania 2000 because those games were awesome. However when it comes to games like TNA iMPACT you really start appreciating the mediocre seeming Smackdown vs. Raw. This game is so bad I had my friend who was also looking forward just come see how big of a piece of garbage this is. To begin..
Conclusion: If you think Midway is going to give THQ and the WWE a run for thier money think again. Although it would be nice to see some competition to up what THQ has to offer. Midway and TNA Impact not only fail, but fail to the extent that the game should be called "TNA Pin Drop" because after you play it for about 30 minutes you'll be staring at the screen wondering why you wasted money for a purchase/rental. Here is why in my opinion, Midway falls flat on thier faces.
Summary: I had been waiting to get this game for a while before actually getting it, so I expected something amazing. First impressions were a really good storyline, simple combat system, good graphics. HOWEVER, as I continued to play the game, I started getting bored. I do love RPGs but this one is quite repetitive and Polka's voice really does get annoying. Like I said, the storyline is a really good idea, but I did find the game a chore to play.
Summary: I love JRPG's. I loved final fantasy, I ended up loving blue dragon even though it took about 17 hours play time to get good...I even sat through the squillions of obscenely long cut scenes in lost odyssey. This game just takes the cake. Sitting through obscenely long photographic montages about chopin's life???!! This is meant to be a game?! The dialogoue between characters was torturous.
Summary: I was really looking forward to playing this game, admittedly I have no interest in Chopin, I liked the visuals and the character models. Unfortunately, this game can't decide if it is a game or a history book. After some scenes end, you are given a history lecture about Chopin's life which felt completely out of place and doesn't feel as though it fits. I also couldn't have cared less.
Excerpt: "I was lent this game from a friend and am glad i didn't pay for this. The game has lots of cutscenes with the characters having extremely long pauses between each sentence - but an intriguing story. The battle system didn't excite me. The battles were repetitive with the characters moaning and groaning their special attacks whenever i used them. Some parts of the story are quite laughable at - but i hope they are meant to be like that. The music ...
Pros: Intriguing story
Cons: Boring battle scenes, annoying character voices, repetitive
Summary: I bought this game off Amazon based on the above average customer review (4 stars)and low price. I like the odd RPG game and thought this would be a good time filler until something better came along. Well, it certainly is a time filler but for all the wrong reasons. The basis of the game is that you are living out the last dream of composer Chopin. A rather original storyline but don't get too excited as it goes down hill from there.
Summary: I am a big fan of RPG's and it's a good thing that Microsoft are trying to bring more of them to the Xbox because it needs them BUT I was very dissappointed in this game. Reading reviews about it you'd think it was some sort of magical experience but it's really not. Graphically it's very colourful and pretty and the combat is pretty cool too but there really isn't that much to it as a story.
Conclusion: Personally I thought the game was very slow, especially the battle stages. I played it once for about 2 hours and did not come back to it since. I thought it would be great as I read really good reviews on it but it reminded me of a rip-off version of Pokemon but with humans
