Eragon Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: From now on, Eragon should be referred to as the poster child for games ported into the next generation. The Xbox 360 version of the game doesn't look much better than the Xbox version (in fact, several people approached my desk and were amazed that it was actually a 360 game), and while some of the...

Eragon Review

VideoGamer.com
6 September 2007
  • Excerpt: There is a train of thought that something created in one medium should translate pretty seamlessly into another, vastly different one, and disappointment ensues when things don't quite go as anticipated.

Eragon

Just RPG
2 July 2007
  • Excerpt: As a fan of the Eragon novel, I was really excited about both the Eragon movie and game. After seeing the movie I was disappointed, and after playing the game, I’m even more disappointed.

Movie tie-in is about the fighting, not the story.

Common Sense Media
2 July 2007
  • Summary: Parents need to know that the main focus of this game is combat. This is a fighting game of slashing and stabbing where fantasy characters die and blood is shown. Unlike the book by Christopher Paolini on which this game is based, the story line is pretty weak.

Eragon (EU Ver)

True achievements
2 June 2007
  • Conclusion: Highest TA ratio in EU version was around 1.34 so although good for your percentage and GS, bad for your average TA ratio. My only saving grace was I picked it up at a rock bottom price and easy 1000g so if your looking for an easy game to boost your score then try King Kong or something, it's...

Eragon

True achievements
26 April 2007
  • Conclusion: I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoy the Eragon story or theme, you should enjoy this game. For $5, you will have a good time going through it. If you really want all of the achievements, you will need to play it twice, once on Normal and then on Hard (they are not stackable); the second...

Eragon

ME Gamers
24 February 2007
  • Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Eragon, the video game, is based on a movie, a mediocre adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Christopher Paolini. Eragon is a typical fantasy world full of dragons, wizards, magic, kings, and a little bit of Lord of the Rings and Harry potter to boot...

GameSpot
11 December 2006
  • Summary: Eragon the video game is based on the movie, which itself is based on the book of the same name. It's a typical fantasy world full of dragons, wizards, and magic, which would seem to lend itself well to a video game adaptation in the vein of the very good series of Lord of the Rings action games...
  • Pros: Some of the magic attacks are fun to use at first
  • Cons: Combat is extremely repetitive and tedious, Poor hit detection, buggy artificial intelligence, frustrating camera angles, The game is short and has very little replay value, Local multiplayer only, no online play, Ugly character models, jerky animations, and an all-around lackluster presentation
