End War

Game Boyz
27 January 2009
  • Excerpt: The Xbox 360 has been over-populated with shooters since its launch. As a result not many military Real Time Strategy (RTS) games have been able to break through and generate success on the shooter dominated platform. Simply put, PC’s have dominated the RTS side of the house in the video game industry. End War hopes to change all that.

  • Conclusion: launch site falls under a terrorist attack. From then on, you’re given the choice of which of the three nations you wish to follow when the war to end all wars begins. The market voice command feature, in which players can guide their troops to engage the enemy using nothing but their voice and an Xbox 360 headset, works well enough….in theory.

Review: Endwar for Xbox 360

Geek.com
9 December 2008
  • Excerpt: Games that have rarely-used or innovative control schemes always intrigue me. Endwar falls into this category, as the voice control system gives a refreshing style to the game, and something that stands out as very different to pepper your playtime with some variety.  Unfortunately, the gameplay isn’t as solid or interesting as the control scheme and the totality of this title suffers as a result.

EndWar Review: Ubisoft’s EndDebate

OXCGN

  • Conclusion: What?  Startled, I turn my head from the command sit-rep view on my HD TV to the doorway, which I forgot had been left open due to the Spring Australian heat. A rather amused delivery guy is there staring at me talking intently at the TV through my headphones.  I’m not able to adapt from Colonel ‘me’ to just plain ‘me’ quickly enough and I end up trying to get out of my chair while dropping the controller at the same time, but forgetting that the headphones on my head...

More Than A Gimmick

  • Conclusion: When you think about it the real problem is the lack of buttons. That’s the reason why strategy games tend not to work on consoles. The control pad doesn’t have enough input options to compare to the combined might of mouse and keyboard. The graphical capability isn’t an issue; it’s all about the lack of buttons. So what if you didn’t have to push buttons? What if you could tell your troops what to do simply by talking to them?

EndWar

Console Monster
2 November 2009
  • Summary: Oil is a much needed commodity. In a world where there is no oil, society pretty much crumbles. Wars will start, people will inevitably die; all over some sticky black liquid. Welcome to the extremely sombre world of EndWar. Nuclear weapons pointed at each other, forces lining the borders, Russia, Europe and America fight it out to try and gain territory and the last few drops of oil left.
  • Pros: Vocie command is a great addition, Some great set pieces, Really has promise.....
  • Cons: ...but doesn't live up to it, Bland gameplay, Sometime erratic voice controls

EndWar

gamereality.org
18 December 2013
  • Excerpt: "Tom Clancy's EndWar on reaaliaikainen joukkojenhallinta-strategiapeli, jossa pääosassa loistaa ääniohjauksella toimiva komentaminen. Valitettavasti ääniohjaus onkin sitten pelin ainoita valttikorteja, sillä ilman kyseistä ominaisuutta on peli pelkkä yksinkertaisemmasta päästä oleva strategiapeli, jota ei ainakaan pelkän yksinpelin vuoksi kannata välttämättä hankkia.
  • Pros: + Theatre Of War -moninpelimuodon kiva idea, + Toimiva ääniohjaus

  • Pros: gelungene Sprachsteuerung, aufrüstbare Truppen, hoher Wiederspielwert

EndWar

GameRadio.de
6 November 2008
  • Summary: „EndWar“ wollte das Genre umkrempeln.
