Summary: I loved EDF 2017 and now I love EDF 2025. None of the EDFs are what I would call "High Quaility", but they are fun, funny, and enjoyably challenging. I would however skip this version and go straight for Earth Defense Force 2025.
Summary: Earth Defense Force 2017 is among my all time favorite games. It is elegantly simple. Almost nothing gets in the way of gameplay, no stupid NPCS, no artsy fartsy cinematics, no pointless puzzles, no objectives. All you did was pick two weapons and kill enemies.
Summary: I was excited when I heard they were making a sequel to EDF. The original was one of my favorite games! Not much production value (like a B movie), but boy was it fun. I loved the fact that there was only 5 achievements, one for beating the game on each of the 5 difficulty levels.
Summary: Despite moments of pure adrenaline fueled excitement, the game is marred by repetitiveness and game breaking glitches that require you to restart entire levels. These glitches aren't even the worst offender, what aggravates me even more are these constant sound glitches that produce brief high pitch...
Summary: I'll start with what I like - namely online multiplayer which boosts the fun factor going through the game with more people. It is definitely a blast in coop mode. The survival mode is also pretty good fun but no leaderboards (why?!!!).
Summary: Insect Armageddon is one of those games that can be surprisingly fun in short doses, but after extended play it becomes repetitive and boring. The gunplay is competent and shooting giant spiders into mush is mindlessly enjoyable, but given ten minutes it dawns on you that that's all you'll ever be...
Summary: I was a big fan of the previous game in the series, and although this one plays fairly well it's ridiculously short in comparison. It feels like little more than a shell for downloadable content, i.e. all the levels that presumably weren't finished in time for the game's release. Rent don't buy.
