Grindage!

Jarin, Amazon
15 January 2016
  • Summary: Not as good as the first gae, but it does look better and offer a lot more. This requires stupid amounts of grinding though. It's fun, but not my favorite game.

Ugh

  • Summary: Earth Defense Force 2017 is among my all time favorite games. It is elegantly simple. Almost nothing gets in the way of gameplay, no stupid NPCS, no artsy fartsy cinematics, no pointless puzzles, no objectives. All you did was pick two weapons and kill enemies.

Fun Shooter for Exterminators

Emily, Amazon
6 September 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this because I loved the prior Earth Defense Force. In this installment the graphics are better and there are character classes and colors to choose from. The best addition is online co-op. However it lacks the scale of it's predecessor. The battles seem more immediate.

Awesome

Zack, Amazon
7 August 2012
  • Summary: The graphics are horrible, the animations are crap, the missions are repetitive but the game is AWESOME. When it comes down to it games are supposed to be fun and that is exactly what this game is. Something about fighting tons of enemies at the same time is crazy fun.

Not the proper sequel I was hoping for

Brad Lee, Amazon
6 March 2012
  • Summary: Earth Defense Force 2017 became a cult-classic due to the excessive, B-movie style cheesiness combined with the solid shooter mechanics and huge variety of weaponry, ranging from hilariously useless (firecrackers) or unnecessarily dangerous weapons (Air Tortoise), to the incredibly powerful weapons...

This game is great, if you love Co-Op.

aspeedy101, CNET
12 January 2012
  • Summary: EDF: IA is a great game when played with friends, either Online, or with the rarely offered splitscreen mode.
  • Pros: Fun Co-Op, Spitscreen Co-Op, Destroyable Buildings/World, TONS of Weapons, Cool Armor Options, Cheap Price
  • Cons: Poor Graphics, Designed for Co-Op, boring by yourself, No Manual, Confusing Briefing System (When killing enemies, sometimes the audio overpowers characters telling you to move, and you may not notice for several minutes), Repetitive

Not even close to the first game.

21 October 2011
  • Summary: Game makers FAIL to understand that sometimes graphics are NOT everything. The first Earth Defense Force was days of two player fun with tons of huge maps and awesome weapons with varying difficulties to almost impossible.

  • Summary: This review is compared to the first game. This new installment just doesnt keep up. First of all....Its alot shorter game than the first. The robots although sleeker looking, arent better than the first. The sounds for the guns are just not good.Kinda cheezy in fact.

My thumbs hurt

Amazon Customer, Amazon
7 August 2011
  • Summary: This game is a lot of fun. If you're a button masher, like I tend to be, then this is a game for you. The split screen local multi player is awesome. I hate those that make you stay with in a certain radious, and this one does not do that. Good entertainment for the price.
