Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
The Gamers Temple
4 October 2014
Excerpt: When Dragon's Dogma came out last year, I had just finished playing a weeklong marathon session of the underrated Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I had a serious hankering for all things action RPG, and Dragon's Dogma came at just the right time to keep me going. Forty plus hours later, I'd finished the game and moved on. I remember thinking a Dragon's Dogma sequel would be awesome, especially since we'll probably never get to revisit Amalur.
Summary: On Bitterblack Isle, there's always something nasty lurking in the darkness. Perhaps it's a ferocious wolf that snarls and charges, forcing you to run to safety or block its substantial weight. Maybe it's a two-story-tall ogre, once restrained by impossibly strong chains, now on the loose and hungry for entrails. Or it might be the chilly grasp of death itself, the grim reaper floating menacingly toward you and threatening eternal sleep.
Pros: Bitterblack Isle features lots of great battles with fearsome foes, Ominous atmosphere and pensive story enhance tension on the isle, Eternal ferrystone eases the burdens of long journeys, The main game remains a special thrill
Cons: The grueling final third of the new dungeon lacks any sense of balance or fun, Pawns require more babysitting than ever
It’s not too late to join the Wyrm Hunt! Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen reviewed

Excerpt: For those of you who have never had the pleasure of playing the original, let me tell you what you’re going to get from the Dragon’s Dogma universe. This is one of those games which manages to not only bring some compelling gameplay to the table, but does so while also creating an honest-to-God original fantasy world to play around in.
Pros: An engaging, original fantasy world, An open world to explore loaded with threats, huge and small, The asynchronous multiplayer pawns are fun to swap with friends, Gorgeous graphics, good voice acting, and a great opening song, Loads of loot and character / pawn customizability, Dark Arisen adds a ton of content to the original game, but…
Cons: …it’s hard to recommend it at full price to original Dragon’s Dogma owners, Pawns can be a bit too yappy, Not everyone appreciates challenging games
Summary: Dark Arisen is more of a rerelease with bells and whistles than a piece of DLC, and owners of the original game will have to decide whether they are enthused enough to reinvest in it. However buying this is an absolute no-brainer for any RPG fans who are yet to experience one of the most original, strange and downright fun examples of the genre this generation.
Summary: Med Dragon's Dogma har Capcom skapt noko heilt spesielt. Det er eit utfordrande og massivt rollespel som verkeleg får fram den intense stemninga av å reise på eventyrferd i farlege område. I Dark Arisen blir eventyrferda tona ned, men farane auka. Vi fann underjordiske område i originspelet òg, men ikkje på denne måten. Dette er eit enormt kompleks av gangar og rom som kan ta deg fleirfaldige timar å kome gjennom.
