"Dragon Age: Origins" is a truly epic RPG. With a huge main quest, loads of interesting side missions, four endings and six distinct prologues to the game, to get 100% completion could take some 200 hours plus. Coupled with a beautifully realised game world and you have a serious contender for a game of the year here. Read more

This game is an important contribution to the decaying and nearly forgotten scene of single-player RPGs. The designers may have been playing things a bit safe with this one, relying heavily on familiar gameplay mechanics from earlier titles such as Baldur's Gate and NWN. And yes, there's the ever-present issue related to the art direction. Again, the art is a matter of personal preference. Dismissing this game for its art and a few bugs would be rash judgment indeed. • A few minor bugs here and there, can be a tad difficult at times, questionable art direction.

You can finish Witch Hunt in around 90 minutes, but that's 90 minutes you should devote to Dragon Age: Origins' other, better DLC. Even Morrigan herself seems bored by the whole thing, displaying little of her signature sneering wit in the precious few moments she appears onscreen. The main game is, at its core, fun to play, and so you may still squeeze some amusement from the simple battles and appreciate the obscure hint of events to come. Read more

    • Some of the environments look lovely, A cool boss fight.
    • Morrigan's role is so tiny that it's practically unnecessary, Throwaway party members, Way too easy, Story lumbers toward an ending that illuminates nothing.

Baldur's Gate was a touchstone game in computer RPGs and its spiritual successor, Dragon Age: Origins has the rocks to be another. You are a Grey Warden, warriors tasked with fighting off the Darkspawn and The Blight, a catastrophic event in which an Old God is corrupted and leads the Darkspawn as the Archdemon in a bid to destroy the world. Dragon Age: Origins review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com It’s Like… …the spiritual successor to old school Bioware favorite Baldur’s Gate, or so they claimed. Though likely more associated these days with Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect, it was the aforementioned Dungeons & Dragons magnum opus that really put the Canadian RPG masterminds on the map. Before we start fawning over Dragon Age: Origins (and there will be much, much fawning) let's look at some of the problems that hitherto haven't really been mentioned by other reviewers. First off the cut scenes suffer from dropped frames while the player often finishes a discussion with a third party only for the scene to randomly decide to repeat itself (and if you're really unlucky - particularly on the PS3 rather than the 360 - it'll do this with the other bloke... Storylines are not as deep as they seem, and its very noticable on the second play through, so without the amount of content of contemporary rpg's its not woth the $60.00 pricepoint especially since D.C. isn't free and was available at release... I am FED UP clicking 'look at PC review' and being taken to a console review! How dare you Action Trip - HOW DARE YOU!!!!!! This is especially true of Dragon Age: Origins, which is REMARKEDLY different on PC to console! Quite simply, on console, this game is much more an action RPG, where you can spend hours in combat with no pause required. Also, not having a 'zoom back' option makes for totally different tactical battles! Read more
