Summary: DOOM was easily one of the most groundbreaking and impressive games of its time and as an avid gamer of over 15 years I must give credit where credit is due. My first experience with DOOM was so many years ago that I recall loading it up on FLOPPY DISCS onto my computer with a giant cold war era monitor. No joke.
Summary: I have been a fan of the Doom series since I was a kid and they first came out for DOS, and I have to say this is the best console version of Doom that I have played. The game is played exactly like it was on the old computers but with the controls moved to an Xbox 360 controller. All things about the original game are kept intact plus there is Xbox live multiplayer Co-Op and Deathmatch, and leaderboards so you can see how you are doing compared to others.
Summary: This is probably the best port I've ever played of DOOM. PC fans, you guys will miss all the customization options. But I was never into modding so I really enjoyed this port. The controls work really well, and the multiplayer is a blast. With the recent sale there should even be folks doing co-op. Don't hesitate to pick this up for even $5, even if you've never played this grandfather of the FPS genre.
Excerpt: "Doom changed my life...no, wait, I should say birth changed my life, really, but Doom comes a close second to the all-knowing, vastness of life's complexities with regards to altering the fabric of the universe, especially for one such as myself who didn't have much in the way of intelligence (school was as entertaining as white paint drying on my sister's face as I threw it at her). But no, really, Doom changed my life, amongst other great games ...
Pros: It reminds you of all that studying you should've been doing
