Good game but very buggy!

Nathaniel Baldwin "NathanielMutt", Amazon

  • Summary: Doing a quick internet search will serve up an impressive list of problems with this particular version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game CANNOT be installed to the Xbox 360's hard drive and thus requires disc swapping and of course spinning. Extended play in this manner might cause your 360 to get overheated and crash or worse serve up the Red Ring of Death on older models.

Stick with the Original Release

D. Frost, Amazon
11 June 2014
  • Summary: This review is for the "Directors Cut" not for the excellent original release. If you want to play Deus Ex the best option is to pick up the original game. Just grab and old copy or get the game on demand when its on sale. Don't bother with this "Directors" cut. If you really want the commentary, grab the PC version. One problem with the release is that you cannot install the game onto the 360.

The game crashes so much, it should be called "Director's Crash"

  • Summary: I thought buying the Director's Cut would give me a great incentive to play the game again. Unfortunately, those who previously owned the original version of this game know that the loading screens are torturous. You can relieve some of that torture by downloading the game to your 360's hard drive. But guess what? You cannot do that with the Director's Cut. You have to wait out each loading sequence as your console reads off the disk.

Great Game Huge fan of series

Lance, Amazon

  • Summary: Like the additional stuff. Love the hard work put into the game the team did and excellent job with the Dues ex reboot. But the directors cut does not work with xbox smart glass and this still has not been fixed very dispointing already had the original and got all the extra for what to pay all over again for the same material. Not cool. Get it fixed. Remember its the loyal customers that let's you guys do what you enjoy but don't screw us over and turn a blind eye.

Director's Cut? Extra stuff?

DodgeBall, Amazon
23 December 2013
  • Summary: There will be a couple of extra weapons, but not much else. No extra bio-mods. Gameplay is exactly the same, towards the end you get a little more. (very little) The "re-worked boss fights" just give you a couple of places to go run and hide. In retrospect, I can only recommend buying this if you don't already own Deus Ex. Otherwise, don't bother.

  • Summary: I haven't been able to stick with the game to finish it. It is boring. The game engine is clunky to me and nothing seem's intuitive. The upgrades to armor, weapons, etc. are complicated and success in the game relies heavily on stealth. In contrast, I have finished Gears of War 3 three times and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Disapointed

Raregrit, Play.com

  • Conclusion: I got this game yesterday and played through to the 1st proper mission and so far I am very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. Augments I loved Deus Ex Invisible War (old Xbox and PC title) and thought the way they did they augments was very cool they used nanites with bio engineered augments so they altered the appearance of the character outwardly but they still looked sort of human this also gives off a feeling that they are very advanced.

Awful game

pmunky, Play.com
18 October 2011
  • Conclusion: Got this for 18 pound couldnt believe how cheap it had gone so quickly as really wanted this game. The last two games i bought were dead island and rage so the graphics on this are like a ps2 game really flat and clunky just like the controls. Cannot see why this game has got good reviews maybe if it was made 10 years ago just waiting for skyrim now.

Good, but not great.

Too Old To Game "GTA fan", amazon.co.uk
28 August 2011
  • Summary: Ok, i would rate this as a game worth buying. That said, there are a number of gripes that stop this being a great game (and perhaps, this may be me just being pedantic). If you're going to approach the game with a stealth approach, perpare to be very frustrated. If you're going to approach with a more 'gung-ho' approach, again perpare to be disappointed. Reason 1.
