Summary: Definitely disappointing after Def Jam: Vendetta. The whole DJ thing is boring, the fighting styles and controls were better in the first one, and this game just doesn't seem to focus on the fighting enough, in general.
Summary: The graphics are absolutely amazing, and the way the soundtrack interacts with the environment is unique and well-done. Everything beyond that is terrible. For whatever reason, the developers decided to get rid of the very fun and very successful fighting engine from the previous two games. We went from a system of several different grapples, counters, and strikes that gave each character literally hundreds of moves to chose from to..
Summary: This game is very repetitive. If you like doing virtually the same thing repeatedly while changing clothes on rare occasion, this is the game for you. Talk to your boss, go fight, talk to your boss, go fight, ...
Summary: I bought this game thinking it would be like fight for NY. but no it all has changed... no blazing moves and hardly a grappling system at all. Its basically punching and ghost spinning a record just to get your music to play, the fighters are so slow, and a very limited amount of fighters to choose from (I think there is only 10 or so).... definitely different and not at all close to the others.
Summary: this game have a pretty solid create a charater and the story line is somewhat interesting. i also like the way you can dress your charater in the latest fashions. The graphics look pretty cool when you first start. on the negative side is the fighting mostly this being a fighting game i dont recomened it. the amount of charaters that you have to choose from is weak the last game had alot more.
Summary: I had higher hopes for this game considering the fighting genre has become pretty stale as of late and the pedigree of the last Def Jam but once again EA went and screwed us like they know how to do oh so well. Four kick/punch buttons are mapped to the A,B,X and Y. Why? I have no idea since they all deliver a similar yet useless move that does almost nothing to the opposing character.
Summary: I was so looking forward to this game being a big fan of Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for NY but was so dissapointed to see this game was no where near what I expected. Why couldn't they had just mad Fight for NY but with better graphics? This game is just garbage all the way round from the slow game play to the limited controls. Complete dissapointment.
Excerpt: Def Jam: Icon is a fighting game, mixed in with earning money, sprucing yourself up and working your way to the top whilst fighting numerous rap stars who range from Lil' Jon to T.I. Def Jam: Icon is the third game to be made Electronic Arts video game series, it is also the first Def Jam game not to be developed by AKI Corporation so you can expect to see the difference in this in comparison to the other games.
Pros: Good player customisation, add your own tracks to the game
