Summary: Dead Space 3 provided protagonist Isaac Clarke with a new stage on which to dismember his necromorph enemies, presenting him with tight corridors that clashed with the wide-open arctic expanses of Tau Volantis, the ice planet holding secrets vital to combating the alien threat; Awakened follows in...
Conclusion: You should absolutely play Awakened if you’ve already beaten Dead Space 3. It’s one of the more original and memorable parts of Isaac’s story… which says as much about Dead Space 3 as a game as it does the quality of this DLC.
Excerpt: The survival-horror genre gets such a bad rap these days that it’s tempting to overlook them for games with a frantic gunplay, co-op multiplayer elements, customizable weapons or … wait, that’s actually what Dead Space 3 offers.
Summary: Dead Space 3 takes the fantastic alien dismembering gameplay in deep space the series is known for and gives you a partner to enjoy it with. This is a good thing, of course, because co-op makes just about everything better.
Conclusion: I feel co-op doesn't need to be in every single game and Dead Space was one of them. Because I feel Dead Space was predominantly a Single Player Survival Horror game to me. With all these things Dead space 3 was a mediocre game to me. Nothing Jaw dropping, Nothing to memorable, RIP Dead Space.
Excerpt: Dead Space is without a doubt one of my favorite next-gen game franchises. I love survival horror, especially when it’s set in the solitude of outer space, and Visceral Games has consistently delivered on that formula for two games and is now attempting a third, as they wrap up this bold trilogy of...
Summary: " Dead Space 3 " is a mixed bag. At its best, it’s never looked or played this well. But at its lowest points, it’s never been this repetitive, ugly, or derivative. It’s also the most hit-and-miss game in the series, with amazing levels in zero-G facing up against by-the-numbers side missions and...
Excerpt: Dead Space 3 is, of course, the long awaited third iteration of a series that began life as a survival horror game and ended with something notably less fear inducing, but still thoroughly enjoyable.
Conclusion: Dead Space 3 is a fun action game and a delightful ride for those who are after a decent co-op shooter. If you want to play the solo mode, the co-op bit won’t get in the way, which is fine. But you still have to realize that this is a pure shooter.
Pros: This game shines as a co-op shooter, some interesting boss encounters, there are a few brilliantly designed locations in this game, there's a lot of cool stuff to unlock, great cinematic ambience;
Cons: The backtracking and elevator rides, as DS fans we can't deny that this is the weakest entry in the series, be it co-op or single-player it appears that any magic the series had is now lost in the murky and crowded waters of generic action games.
